This picture was taken July 16th. 1992. We walked from sea level, up to a place called Nunataken (The Nunatak - a rock protruding through the glacier at about 1700 m), where we rested for an hour, and then climbed the steepest part up to the top in about two hours. The inside of the crater is to the left, the crater is about 1 km i diameter. On the descent we had to run to keep afloat, else we would sink in to our knees, - the snow was melting in the sun . The weather was brilliant all day, and the whole trip took 17 hours.
