Civil operators

In addition to the military aircraft operated by the RNoAF, a small number of civil aircraft have been operated by civil contractors on behalf of the RNoAF.

Lufttransport AS

Coast_Guard_pennant.gif Since 1994 Lufttransport AS, originally a subsidiary of Helikopter Service, has operated a Dornier 228-202K on behalf of the Governor of Spitsbergen (Sysselmannen på Svalbard). The aircraft is registered LN-LYR and is based at Longyearbyen. Duties include supply flights to the research station at Ny-Ålesund and the mining comunity at Svea as well as fishery and environment protection patrols and coast guard duties. The aircraft is painted in a civil scheme with the company logo on the fin and carries a yellow and blue coast guard pennant on the fuselage.

After Lufttransport broke its connection with Helikopter Service, the original tail logo was replaced with Lufttransport's new logo.

Lufttransport AS has its own website at http://www.lufttransport.no.
