The 2003 season has ended. I did not achieve my objectives as a hobby racer as planned. I did not race as quick as I wanted. And I have learned that racing is also about mental training as well as physical skills on the track. This year I have crashed to many times. And because of all this crashes I'm holding back on the track. I dont wont to hold back, but I'm safing to much. As a result of this my lap times is not as low as they should be. But racing is not only about low laptimes, it is also about having a good time and put your mind on about other stuff than work and so on. And there is also plenty to learn on the track, and that is why I will continue racing next year and as long as it is fun. During the winter I will do some training on a Yamaha YZ 125 motorcross bike. I have never tried motorcross, and it is excellent training for roadracing.

The 2003 season has been busy. Early this year we went to Thailand and some very good days at Bira International racetrack outside Pattaya city. I've done a lot of training without any damages other to my bike. This winter I will also do some maintenance on the bike, and as part of that engine tuning is required. The 748R is a little short of top power, but it has some potensial for more power. And my philosophy is simpel - as long as there are Ducati 748R riders who are quicker than me on the track I will not change to another bike. Racing Ducati is still fun - the bike is full of soul and for me the ultimate tool on the track.

If I'm going to develop my racing skills I have to train a lot and focus on the right things. Racing is for me also about mental training, and to be comfortable about what you are doing. The main objectives this year was to reduce my average lap times with about 2 seconds (which I did not).

Racing a Ducati is very fun and challenging. The Ducati is more expensive and a little short on top power compared to the Japanese contenders. But ride the Ducati correct, and it is hard to beat. And that is the challenge, learn to ride it and you become very quick on the track.

In 2001 I sold my old 748 Biposto and traded it for a new 2001 mod 748R. The 748R will be used on the track only, no registration plates on it. The 748R is the perfect track tool, and it's almost track ready (some small changes are required - like new footpegs and so on). See my 748R page for some details about the bike, and my racing pages for info about racing the Duke.

This homepage is most of all dedicated to motorcycling and Ducati twins. My experience as a motorcyclist has the last years changed from a street motorcyclist to only ride (and race) on racetracks only. I did my first track experience in 1998, and since that I've been doing more and more track times. Last year I decided to sell my street bike, and go for a track bike only. After the 2002 season I do not regret that decision. Riding on the track is for me more fun and "safer" than riding on the streets. I've experienced a broken collar bone (due to a highside at training), and on the track I can ride on my limits and still be quite safe.

Karlskoga racetrack July 2002 (from Rookie 600 Scandinavnian Open)

I've done quite a few events on my Ducati's. I've joined both WDW2000 and DRA2001 (you can read about it further down on this website). After Las Vegas and DRA2001 I decided not to go for WDW2002. I'll concentrate on racing and training, and my spare time will be spent walking in the Norwegian mountains (se also my tracking pages).

The "hardware"

  • My racing pages.

  • This is my Ducati page. The web-pages behind this link comprises info about my experience as a Ducati owner.

  • What changes are we going to do this winter (2000)? This page shows an attempt to remove the swingarm, and some other pictures as well.

  • Behind this link there are dynoruns of a standard 748 Bip, a 748R (the dyno of the 748R is very good) and a standard 996 Bip.

  • Information about myself, my Curriculum Vitae.

The happenings

  • Check out my events page for more events.

  • I have returned from a couple of days in Las Vegas and DRA2001.

  • One week after the last four days I returned to Anderstorp, again for two more days. I mounted a DV camera on my bike this time, and their is a downloadable movie (requires Realplayer) on the page. The size of the file is about 3.3 meg.

  • Some more track days at Anderstorp, July 2001. I did four days on the track this time. There are some movies on this page as well.

  • Track days with California Superbike School, Pembrey June 2001.

  • In July 2000 we went to Gislaved (Sweden) for some track days at Anderstorp Racingway. The track is about 4 km long, and it was used as at GP and WSB track until 92/93. And as last year, I have loads to learn about riding a MC.

  • In beginning of June 2000 we travelled to the WDW2000 in Misano, Italy. Total distance travelled about 4200 km (on the road) in 6 days.

  • Last December (1999) I had the pleasure to visit the Ducati Museum. During my stay in Bologna I did also visit the Bologna Millenium Motorshow.

My Linux workstation

There is also information about my Linux workstation. I learned to know Linux in 92-93, and I have since then been using Linux as one of my favourite desktop SW. Here is some info about my Linux workstation.

These web-pages started more or less as an experiment to learn XML and the various XML-tools. The pages are written in XML (Extensible Markup Language) by using the XML version of DocBook. The XML-files are after completion translated to HTML by using a XSL (Extensible Stylesheet Language) parser and the HTML translations within the XML version of DocBook. It's simple and it works.
