My first visit to the country lasted for about 20 minutes when I was sailing on the Mekong river and it made Laos the 51st country I visited.
In 2002 I went back to the country and made a "proper" visit. Luang Prabang is a very nice town where you among a lot of others can enjoy more than 50 temples. The capitol Vientiane is also worth a visit.
