Flowers and jewelry

A couple of romantic ladies, one which is a florist that runs a flower shop, are going to open a new boutique on the same street as and pretty damn close to NOA NOA (one of my biggest inspirations).

There shall be flowers, romantic clothing, bags by the lovely Birgit S. Mote aaaand... jewelry by yours truly! - one of these ladies bought the lilac faery skirt I made:

Faery Skirts

Quite the exclusive boutique I hear, I'm SO excited! - They shall open in May, website in the works..

This means I have to up my game in the display department. I've yet to see where my section is going to be, but I promise I'll post pics of the progress as I make my new display!

Things are looking good for Plumevine! And to prove it, here are some beauties I photographed yesterday at a local flower shop (Plumevine jewelry amongst flowers, I can't hold the joy!!)..

Death by Roses Rose Love

Death by Orchids Kissed by Flowers

Death by Flowers A Thousand Giggles

Today I'm finishing a custom photo necklace for a family member. I'll post pics later when it's finished :)

Spreading Wings

I've been a computer toad since yesterday, so much to see, so much to do! A toad with wings, wings that have been spreading through the web..

Yesterday the faeries at the faeriefashion Livejournal community were absolutely awesome about my work. It's this kind of stuff that really puts the fuel in the engine for me. If I can reach and inspire people through art, I've done my part.

There are a few surprises coming up in the near future, but right now due to all the recent attention I've been getting I decided my gallery needed a polish!

I've gotten much better at photographing jewelry than when I started, and felt that the Plumevine gallery should get some of that new skill shown off. ;)

I've also been finding more of my kin, finding wonderful people and spreading the word about Plumevine.. If my days seemed short, now they seem even shorter..

I went "back into the world" so to speak, after my days in faerie online communitites. It's been like 10 years since then and I have to say I'm so proud to see that it's flourishing in such a beautiful way today. There's gatherings, balls, masquerades, festivals, magazines, there's EVERYTHING faerie today! It's awesome!

Here's something I absolutely love which I found at the Magic Mushroom community:

"Every acorn or so, a fairie comes along who doesn't give a fig for today's sence of fashion. Why should she? She's an artist. Although her creations bear no resemblance to what anyone else is wearing, somehow they convey that her choice is the correct one-and that everyone else has made a terrible mistake."

They took the thoughts right out of my head! I couldn't have put it more eloquently.

Why settle for being told how to look, think and act (for a price) when you can come up with it all by yourself, for free! Life is a canvas, life is a playground, life is short. When you follow your heart, don't let anyone tell how how you should live, never! It's the children, animals and nature that still have it right, we grown ups should learn more from them.

The last bit of self-imposed opression was shoved right out of me the moment a troll decided to try and put me in a little box even further. The universe works in mysterious ways, but it was his trolling that made me really ask myself why was I holding back? What was the point of that, and from then on I've let my soul soar and no one can stop me now, not even myself!

A little girl oracle said to me in a dream once: "Live your life to the full, hold nothing back." and I live to that.

So my days from long, boring and sometimes sad, now barely have enough hours in them to make up for all the joy I can muster from just letting my soul soar, letting the cabbage patch flourish and feasting on those green leaves!

A magical custommer

The mysterious Elven lady who acquired the Rivendell necklace was none other than the lovely Rena Klingenberg! Jewelry artist and author of Home Jewelry Business Success Tips. - I'm very honoured that she now posseses one of my creations and the lovely words she gave me as feedback!

5 of 5 stars by RenaKlingenberg

"This necklace arrived very fast, and is really even more beautiful than I expected. The craftsmanship is very high quality, and the packaging was also lovely. I put it on as soon as I opened it, and am still wearing it!"

Even more amazing is the article she wrote about Social Networking and how benefitial it is for people running their business over the web, which can be found here!

"Today, a package arrived in my mail from Norway:

. . . which contained the even-more-stunning-in-person Rivendell necklace.

I'm completely thrilled with it (and haven't taken it off since I unwrapped it)!"

Thank you Rena and you are always welcome at Plumevine :)

Syndication

I've been finding ways to make it easier for you to get all the new things that I have to offer, so I ended up at Feed Burner and burned just about every feed I own.

The good thing is that now they have cool options like "email this", "add to blog" and such.

I haven't found a way to join them all into one, I guess that's what you call a blog! I will always update through my blog of course, but if you want all the feeds, well here's the new and improved feed list:

Now subscribe, update and enjoy!

Update:

This widget syndicates them all, even the videos. It can be added to your readers, so add and enjoy :)

Heart of the Garden

Heart of the Garden

I'm enjoying my jewelry works lately very much, as you can see my art is moving through new realms. There's only so much you can do with imitating standard metal and adding enough light for contrast.. But this is more like a sculpture, a painting, a jewelry piece, a spell and much more!

I'm feeling more and more boundless as my work progresses through the alchemical process of unveiling the soul :)

Just last night I had dreamed that I discovered a little garden through the back door of the apartment. There's no back door here as I live in an attic, but well that's the world of dreams.. I was so happy, a patch of dirt, fenced and everything, I could make things grow!

Amazingly enough there were already things growing in it, cabbages, green cabbages!

One step at a time

I've been making alot of updates and news and such, but haven't said much about me and what's been going on lately...

This is mostly because I've been very tired. I get my creative bursts usually during the night, and once I got something going I find it very hard to leave it unfinished. And as strange as it feels, time simply flies.. Before I know it the sun's coming up, a new day is beginning and the things I had planned for the day need to be done..

I've found it rather amazing just how much my body's been able to keep going with so little rest. But I've been making an effort these days to get back on full. I finally got a good night's sleep, it was much much overdue.

Oftentimes it's so hard to even realize what is bringing us down in certain situations and I made it a point a while ago to aknowledge my feelings to the simplest one, and if there's anything making me feel the least uncomfortable, to find out what it is, bring it to conscioussness and deal with it appropriately. It's no use dragging around discomforting feelings that we're not even aware of.

At times it's something as simple as realizing that my chair is too high, or too low for me to comfortably sit down and work. Or something that is completely silly, old and irrational, and once brought to light I can laugh about it and let it go... So my stock of supplies was starting to stagnate me. - I'd been carrying alot of things that I've had for ages, many that I used when I started making jewelry and it looked very different then, just things I simply don't use anymore. So while I knew I had plenty of stuff, I still felt limited during the process of creating and couldn't really understand why.

So I needed to let go of the old and bring in the new.. That's what I'd done recently, I found lots and lots of gorgeous new things and have been clearing out my space and re-stocking. My creativity just got a new high and I'm feeling at times blissful, even if exhausted, when I aknowledge my new tools.

I've developed a new passion for my materials, a new love. I'm completely in love with the colours, textures, surfaces, forms and every other quality and charasteristic that they have.

Very much like a chef falls in love with cooking ingredients and tools, I'm in love with my art tools.

I've also been becoming more aware of the kind of art that I like most. Like realizing that my favourite paintings are those whose colours are undefined and diluted, such as watercolours. Art pieces that look like water, such as lampwork glass. Pottery that looks frail and assymetrical..

I want to try all three! - I took a course on pottery back in Bergen and I loved working earthen clay very much, but without an oven it can't be done and I don't have the money or space for a clay oven. I brought some clay home after the course and made a few cups that still sit in a box unbaked.

Lampwork I wouldn't dare touch without at least some basic training, but I have a feeling I would love it. - And watercolours I've meddled with here and there. The paintings that I love the most are made with pen and watercolours, so first I must learn to draw..

I'm not yet 30, so I think I can manage these goals before I grow old.. One step at a time.

Faeries off to Dublin!

While my parents were here last month mum helped me finish my DaWanda samples for an event in Dublin. Ma momma's gonna be so proud when she sees the work she collaborated on being shown here!. (pendants on the top left)

I had to take some time to design and make 20 of those while they were here because I just couldn't miss the opportunity to hand out Plumevine faeries to the Irish!

So they will be given out as samples alongside others from many great artists and designers who also have an online shop at DaWanda for the Fashion Evolution event tomorrow.

And what could be cooler than an ethical fashion event??

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to tell mum about this!

This week..

I've been getting mail like crazy! That's the pile of envelopes I've collected so far, and more are coming! I guess that's what happens when I sell some jewelry, I buy more materials. But this time it's a bit special because I am giving my supplies a spring cleaning I haven't done in years..

These were intended to be finished last night, at least have them painted. But instead...

Lorean Naiad Jewels

THIS came to be! I'm so in love with it!

Lorean Naiad Jewels

I like it so much it's quite the painful choice to sell it. But such is the life of an artist..

Sara's Jewelry Box

Sara's Jewelry Box

I've been working on a standard design, not so one of a kind, less time consuming (yeah, right!) that I can replicate and therefore have it cost less than the unique and thorough Fairytale designs in the book covers.

So I made this collection, Sara's Jewelry Box and these are only 3 of the many more that are still being completed!

So who's Sara and what's with her jewelry box?.. Sara is my dearest late granny. She was the kind of granny that you could have all to yourself, and when mum saw my work space, she mentioned how much it reminded her of her mothers'.

I'd spend alot of time at her house, amongst all the fun things we did together I'd take a moment every now and then to look at her jewelry box. It was like a magical treasure filled with pearls and shiny beautiful things.

I'm now the owner of some of these things, sad but beautiful in a way. Now I'm the keeper, and in this beautiful memory I've made this collection.

In fact, all of my jewelry is inspired by that magical treaure box..

Personal Service Tea

Today I received a bunch of supplies I'd ordered on the net. I love getting mail and it was like a little christmas, well, I could say better than that because this time everything I got I really wanted! :P

But there's something special about buying goods from people rather than some big shop. Nothing compares to that personal service, the love and magic you get from people running their own business.

In every package I got a bit of extra goodies as a gift, do you get that at the big shops? Nope. One guy even cut out the shipping for another package because I hadn't seen some of his new stuff after he'd sent the first one. I made a second order and he refunded the shipping costs! I bet you get that kinda service from a big shop.. I wouldn't count on it though :) - I really felt blessed to receive so many beautiful things sent from people with so much care and love.

Faery Tea Time

So that ADORABLE tea pot you see above I got from the lovely Brass Bouquet, it's so gorgeous that I'd been inspired, can't you tell? The tea cups I made with czech glass flower beads, bead caps and wire.

I'll put those together on something pretty soon! I got so many new toys and I'm ready to play!

Also, I updated the media section here, I found a really cool web service that stores and displays your videos, pretty good quality as well. So I got to make a little embeded widget with all of my videos in one nifty package. Beats the crap out of youtube!

I'm not pleased one bit to know that youtube's policies can be easily bent with enough cash. Not my kinda place, not my kinda people, not my cuppa tea!. BlipTV.com is quite awesome so I'm sticking to that. And of course, Indiepublic, really cool place too :)

New Jewels!

As promised, the latest jewels are up in the shop. "Get them before someone else does" or "Get them now, she'll be famous one day that one!" ha! no, no sales pitch here. They will go where they belong, when the time is right :)

You may notice the book covers are different, because they are! :) I wanted to show more of the jewelry in them, so I edited them anew. I'm quite pleased with the results!

I've been glued to the computer updating the shop and such, now that it's all finally done I can go back to my table and get my hands full of paint, clay and patina stain!

Sun Honey Jewel

By tonight I promise to list the last pieces that I posted here. I just have ot take measurements and all that boring stuff...

Well, this one will be up by tonight also, it's the Sun Honey Jewel! A dark amber slab framed in clay and surrounded by golden jewels.

My story for this one is that an assortment of powerful witches went to the heart of a fiery mountain to reach the essence of the Sun, a most powerful and rare element for powerful spells, some say love spells that never fail and guaranteed death after intercourse..

Many died in the pursuit, dragons amongst other creatures guard the essence pool, but one made it..

Once the essence solidified, it was polished and mounted in a jeweld necklace..

There's an ancient prophecy that speaks of a day when "the dew from the sun that was once captured will show its true power". A day of dire need, but no one knows when, or what.

It's been 465 years since the witch captured and sold the essence to the King,(clearly, her descendants now enjoy the fruits of her heroic labour, rich beyond their dreams), and it's been passed along generations, still unused.

When this moment of need comes, the necklace will be broken, the essence taken and the most powerful spell of the time will be made.

But until then..

Media!

I've been meaning to make this update for several hours now, but I keep putting it off because I don't want the music to stop playing!!

Yes, there's music now! There's also the list of videos up above the posts. I've decided to make a little media section, it's pretty much in beta mode, but there my new visitors can find the videos and hopefully enjoy them.

Plus the music player at the top, playing the Goddess Her Self Tori Amos. The autoplay volume setting is pretty low, because as much as I love music, I do find it pretty irritating when I go to a website and suddenly there's loud music playing..

Well, I hope you enjoy it as much as I :)

Yay!

I have to announce, no, BRAG about my latest sale!

Rivendell Necklace

The Rivendell Necklace has made its way to an Elven Lady with a keen eye on jewels. I'm honoured to send this lovely in her direction and know that it will be in good hands. :)

Also..
Sealeu Necklace

The Sealeu necklace has gone out to a new home. I don't know who, but I'm sure someone of Merfolk inclination..

I have a zillion things to do again, yay for me! Having too much to do in my opinion beats having nothing or too little to do. I missed being back in the game, so to speak.

I will be better stocked than I've ever been in a couple of weeks, but in the meantime there are some jewels that need completion, profitably doing away with materials that no longer serve me, and a web design job for a friend that should be lots of fun. I'm sure I've forgotten a thing or four.

Like a fat cat

I've found my personal ebay. You know how it is, you start with one thing then you decide to look for more in the ocean of items, then you can't stop!

I've been shopping for what seems like an eternity, but I think it's actually been 3 days.

And what might that be? Materials of course! Beads, beads, beads, charms, wire, chains, you name it.

It's like an ocean of supplies suddenly opened to me. I tend to be very specific with what I'm looking for and can't always find it around here. Last month I made a point to find steady suppliers on the web as part of my furthering my business skills and such.. Alas, I've stacked up for a few months. That should satisfy the creative frenzy that awaits me.

Spring and summer are the best times, for many different reasons. And it was last year that we started out here in Trondheim with the saturday market at Bakklandet. It was a success and we had so much fun doing it, I'm really looking forward to it this year!

Now that I have a better idea of what to expect, what my custommers requested the most and well overall experience, I have big plans for this year and I'm getting everything ready!

Speaking of custommers, this is something I probably hadn't told anyone. People often ask about things like my "target custommer". I really don't think in terms of finance, but act upon inspiration and intuition. I try to get my head in business mode for the sake of it every now and then, and if I had to describe what kind of person I make art for, it would be best described as magical people, or faery people.

I supply jewels for Mermaids, Sylphs, Naiads, Nymphs, Pixies, Elves, Wizards, Lords, Ladies, Witches, Empresses, Princesses, Queens, Peasants and just about every living being you find in a fairytale.

It may not be your fashion house clientelle, it may not 'make it' 'big', it may not reach Paris, London, Milan or New York. Do I care? No! It's not what I'm trying to do, not by a long shot.

It's those shining souls in the midsts of everything that inspire me, and that I create for. It's a beautiful exchange that weaves a magical web around the planet. A sticky web that entangles more and more and spreads out with its magical energy.

And when I come to think of it, every person I look up to the most in the world of art, hasn't played by the "make it big" rules, yet has achieved rock hard support from those who appreciate them. They don't starve, and they seem quite fulfilled and content. Far better off than those who are out for the money and left their soul at the door.

So after this shopping frenzy I find myself back at the work table and working on multiplied designs. I want to make a few staple designs which should be more affordable. Surprisingly enough even that doesn't turn out as planned.. They are still different from one another, but it's all good.

Here's a sneak peek at what's coming to the shop shortly..

Frames Display Article

The lovely Rena Klingenberg, author of several books and editor of a blog regarding jewelry businesses and how you can run your own at home, has placed my article about my 3 Frame display in her site!

You can check it out here!

Another beauty has gone to a loving home, my Bluegrace Earrings:

No watering nor feeding required, just thorough enjoyment!

I've been finishing some other pieces these past days but await anxiously my bag of goodies from the US to make them even prettier!

As for the chronicles on film, I've been debating on whether I should go ahead and make a vid using my old crappy camera, which could be finished right away and not look as good, or use my new video camera, which I can't find a way to extract files from because it had been used and they forgot to bring me the software it came with. If I could download it off the net it would be great, but all they give out are updates.. No word from Panasonic yet..

Featured at Brass Bouquet!

I've been honoured by Jill Fiore from the amazing Brass Bouquet boutique! I'm in love with all things vintage and Jill has the loveliest brass items for all jewelry makers. She stumbled upon my site and liked what she saw! So she's given me the honour of being featured in her new blog which I encourage everyone to check out:

http://brassbouquet.blogspot.com

She says:

"Lorianne is an incredible jewelry artist, working with clays and sparkling dusts and jewels."

I have to admit some of the dust you find around here doesn't sparkle, but I try to keep the sparkly kind around most of the time :p

Jill also has jewelry contests at her boutique where she gives out up to $50 gift certificates for the most original work made by artists using her materials. You may find the winners in a gallery which you can see here.

Her merchandise is constantly being updated, which is something I love about Brass Bouquet. And I can say that everything I've ordered is even prettier in person.

Thanks Jill!

New doors

I've bought so many new supplies to make jewelry with through the internet. It was awesome because they are usually very expensive here in Norway. I felt like a kid in a candy store. Now I just have to receive them in the mail within a week or two.

The days are longer and brighter, save for today with a bit of rain. However, rain is no longer a sad word, but a beautiful word!

I'm well equipped for rain now. You've seen my beautiful rain boots, but wait till you see my new umbrella! You will die!..

I've meant to show it for a week or two, but haven't gotten around it yet. I think I've come to a place where I need to change my approach to things, because I feel blocked.

When I think of the usual way forward I get discouraged and unmotivated. Then I look at whatever's gotten my attention at the moment, which doesn't get me anywhere either and I find myself stuck in between paths.

So I've concluded that the only way forward is a change. Something I haven't yet realized.

I'm not one to rationalize things anymore. I've found that it just stirrs in complications, delays and makes things more difficult. So I'm going to be open to changes, and allow them in.

Natural process, natural law, trust.. That's (usually, mostly) my approach to living. It never lets me down, but for when I get bored, like now, and start to find ways to entertain myself.. I've also been feeling emotionally drained (after the visit) and have kinda been trying to bring myself back up to full before attempting anything worthwhile. - There's nothing more impossible than to create beauty when you can't feel it within yourself.

Whenever I see or touch something I'd worked with, it brings back the thought and feeling I had when I last touched it, or when I was creting it. This is why it's so crucial for me not to make anything unless I have but positive thoughts and feelings through the process.

So as of now, something needs to happen, hopefully I shall meet you on the other side with a new video :)

My 145th post, probably the most important

Since I've learned so much the past few weeks about a particular organization and their constant practice of crimes, I feel that it's only my responsability to inform those who may listen, spread the word of warning and help however I can, even in the smallest way.

As much "live and let live" as I am, this organization has simply gone too far.. These are some of the things they are known for doing:

Mind control
Violation of human rights
Preventing freedom of speech
Breaking families apart
Following a world domination plot
Buying police enforcement
Illegal surveillance
Blackmail
Framing victims
Murder

If all of this sounds outrageous and you wonder why you haven't heard of it before, or why hasn't any legal action been taken against it, it's precisely due to their effectiveness in doing all of those things that have kept them in the dark for so long.

People have been terrified to speak, those who have spoken in the past have paid terrible prices, some have lost their lives.

This organization is active all over the world, under many different names. What it offers is personal freedom, for an outrageous amount of money. What they give is psychological, monetary and at times physical enslavement. In most cases by the time people realize what's being done to them they feel hopeless, powerless, afraid to loose the only friends they have left, afraid of getting back into the world not knowing how to re-integrate. Some simply end their own lives.

With all the money this organization milks off its members, they have mustered a legal team that fiercely attacks anyone who attempts to criticize them. People have been scared to speak in fear of being framed, in fear of a bogus lawsuit, or 50 of them, as they are well known to do.

People, press, news agencies, everyone has been afraid to speak for these reasons, simply not wanting to take the risk.

Until recently..

A group of thousands upon thousands of people decided that enough was enough, and took the stand against this criminal organization. Those who were hiding came to the surface, those who are trapped in its grips are sending out messages for help, all who have wanted to speak but were afraid to are yelling out, those who have been fighting alone have come together. There's a massive wave taking over this, washing away the fear by numbers and people are standing up for justice.

I'm also standing up for justice, and if you wish to know of whom I speak, just click here and find out.
