Golden Heart jewelry available at Gaven starting tomorrow!

I'm very happy to announce a new line of jewelry that will become available at Gaven from tomorrow. These are called Golden Heart, simply because they display a golden heart! Also, because if you carry one of these, it means that you've contributed to helping the sweet animals of Trondheim's Animal Shelter live more comfortable lives, until they find a loving home. Which shows that you indeed have a Golden Heart.

And of course I will show off my latest display!

This one took me all night to finish. I used one of those plastic sign holders for the wall, I got this one at Office Max in the US. Using a base of wood, I embellished it with clay which has been painted and given an aged, shabby-chic look. I connected it to the plastic with a couple of small screws, since the plastic had a couple of holes on it.

A piece of ribbon goes inside the plastic fold, allowing for it to be hung on the wall.

That's the power of late-night creative feats. I could have just bought an old frame and attached some nails to the bottom, but that wouldn't have been as much fun :)

Lovely! I have three dogs and three cats, all from animal shelters or the street, and some have been seriously ill-treated by their previous owners, so you have ALL my support! People cannot imagine how expensive it is to feed six mouths, can you imagine feeding a hundred?

Oh and did you know my grandfather was a budgie breeder? Another connection! I've had budgies, parrots and many other birds- they're very popular here and you can find them free in many parks in the warmest parts of the islands. Actually I was talking yesterday to my husband that I missed the chirping of a bird at home - our last parrot died last year at a very old age and I've missed her so much. I cannot imagine my life without my animals.

It's not surprising to hear you got so many little ones in your care, I wonder how you get time to do anything with so many babies around the house!

It's funny because people have so far being very shy over the idea that they can choose to put a price on something lol. I went to the shop today and the necklaces were all still there!

Budgies are like little colourful jewels, I just love them. Soon I hope to get another one, we'll see if it happens next week.

I'm so sorry to hear about your parrot, loosing a pet is so painful! You should get a new featherling, the music and beauty they bring is quite unique to their kind. I've always had cats and wanted to expand my relationship with those of air, so Tien came along :)
