The Sacred Spark

There is something about putting yourself in the open through your art, that brings all sorts of situations your way, and you choose where to allow them.

Somtimes you're right on, sometimes you're not. Sometimes mercury is retrograde, or you're having a funny day and let things slip in the wrong places. Then you're left to wonder whatever happened to your creativity and why it feels stunted.

And this is when it's time for a soul cleanse. It seems cleanse has been a theme of late for me, both physically, mentally and emotionally, which explains why I hadn't updated my blog in a while!

It's hard to be expressive through a time of introspection..

Unfortunately my new power converter isn't working too well on the vitamix, so I'm asking the company for some help or if I can trade it for an European model. No super sleek green smoothies for me yet, but certainly alot of live food! They say each try takes long to start but lasts longer and longer, so I'm feeling positive about giving my body a very positive change in health and overall well being.

We're looking into a new apartment aswell as I will be needing more room around me to create and be. I'm dreaming of a garden even if a little one, but we'll see..

And I've given my work space a thorough cleaning (much needed), which has helped me undo with the clutter and any other binds in my mind and soul that had been straining my free flow of energy.

I'm also gathering up things we no longer use or need to hand out to the "Free Shop", where people pick and drop whatever they want/need.

I'm giving more time to my work, too.

But it's not all letting go, I've met some wonderfully creative people lately, amongst them the knitting Goddess, Christiane from Germany, who owns Krishnane, whom I've become a model for!

I'm sure there's more to come, but right now it's my heart and soul where my priorities lie, on my table, with my clay, paints, faery magic and listening to my inner voice..

"Inspiration" and Inspiration

Original Goddess Original Goddess "Inspired" singer

The dilema of being copied had made its way to me lately. I've seen it done to others, to friends and I'm not immune either, so I thought I'd give my personal opinion on the subject.

I had an astrologer friend when I was 15, he was the person I considered the wisest and most spiritual at the time. It was through him that I decided to learn astrology and it was then while I was in high school that I started dealing with being copied. One day I got so upset I called him to ask him for advice, because it really bothered me to have the particular same people do whatever I was doing (clothes, etc.), only after having seen me do it.

He said that while things may basically look or be the same, that in essence it's the person who conceives them from their heart and soul, that radiates through them. While those who copy, well, just look like they are copying.

I've stuck to this throughout my life, because let's face it, it's something that happens to artists who seek to create things that are new. I'm the person who wouldn't do anything that's already been done. What's the point? Breakthroughs aren't following another's footsteps, but conjuring your own new ways. Making use of our ability to expand our reality in new ways, being a visionary. These are the things that move me the most and so, to copy for me is pretty pointless.

Alot of people claim to have been inspired by another's work, and pretty much attempt to recreate what they have seen/heard, which to me is plainly and bluntly just copying.

Inspiration is to be filled by something from the heart, and to use it creatively is to express it in an unique and personal way.

I admire other artists who seek within them new ways, who spend years building up a style and niche of their own. Endless soul searching and lots, lots of work. Trying different approaches and doing away with whatever's not satisfactory, being a perfectionist and true to their desire to create art, which is the expression of their souls.

And I feel very sorry when I see others try to copy them. Yet although I may not know some of these artists personally, I can see clearly when someone's copying them and very much what my astrologer friend said, that true soul expressions radiate through those who conceived them and not through those who copy them..

Plumevine News

Krishnane's Lovely Garmets

If you go to the front page of DaWanda, you just might catch this photo on the left. That's yours truly modeling amazingly beautiful creations by Krishnane!

Krishnane's Stole and Beret

Krishnane makes the most beautiful Stoles, Shawls, Hats and Accesories with soft and luxurious fibers. I can speak first-hand of her beautiful "Aline" Beret and "Victoria" Stole in mauve, it's like a drape of magic!

She makes these according to your wishes in size and colour. He designs are so popular that they get on the front page of DaWanda and soon in other publications as well.

Her work is so inspiring that I felt compelled to create the Krishnane Lotus One of a Kind necklace for her, which I'm modeling in the photo.

Krishnane Lotus
(For special unique requests see my "Special Requests" at the boutique!)

I would have never guessed I'd be modelling at "soon 30" lol.. But that's life, beauty and opportunities continue as we allow them, and ourselves.

I'm also very excited to announce a new market place for hand made goods that I will be a part of very soon!

LolliShops is a juried, online selling venue for talented artists, collectors of vintage and art supply vendors

It's called Lolli Shops and if you have a sweet tooth, or I should say sweet eye, this is the place for you!

It's a juried online market place where everything you'll find inside will be whimsical, sweet, romantic, vintage and "froufrou" (new word to me). In other words, it's like going to a vintage candy shop in a little Faery village, somewhere by a circle of rosey mushrooms.

A new pair of earrings will soon be added to the One of a Kinds, stay tuned!

Still here!

I need to go raw again, for different reasons. But now I really can't complain, can't complain AT ALL. I have a vitamix for god's sake! I'm looking for a converter that will work as the last one had the fuse blown when I filled it up. But I did get a chance to try it for a bit and *drank* a couple of carrots. It was amazing..

I'm not far from 30, my deadline for being at least 50% raw. I can't afford plastic surgery nor would I like to get any, but I'd still want to hold on to my youth for as long as I can and raw can do this. I think to say 'youth' doesn't really explain it, it's not that I want to look the same for longer, but I want to age in health and with vitality. I like a mature look, it says I've lived, but one that is in health rather than a dried up prune. Not to mention feeling and being healither with more energy, being more productive all together, etc...

The list goes on.. So today I purchased the 20 dollar "all Ebooks" pack from http://www.thegardendiet.com, along with their 1hr+ uncooking dvd. It's so helpful to actually see people doing this, rather than reading books, seeing pictures and a plethora of made up recipes by people in different stages of raw, where some stuff is downright awful and unclear.

They don't do dehydrated foods and I don't have nor plan to buy a dehydrator so it's perfect.

I've been given a very interesting and important task, as well.

A lovely custommer of mine who works at the ancient cathedral here in Trondheim suggested I put the Goddess into Christianity through my work. That is, I was interested in a line that would suit the gift shop, naturally, something in the spirits of the place, which is all medieval and very masculine. But she told me about how she would love to have a cross, but how they tend to be so masculine, how she can seldom see the Madonna in the local art, if at all and that she would love it.

It's the same reason why medieval stuff isn't really my cuppa tea, we have a romantic idea of the times, but I can't put aside the masculine grips of religion, barbarity and overall extremes of the time. I best enjoy it in Monthy Python, really.. But I'm better moved by the Goddess energy which is free and nurturing that can and has always been found in nature.

I won't make organic crosses because they wouldn't suit, but definitely Goddess.

It's also getting darker sooner now, so I can't take pictures of jewellery any time of the day anymore and have natural light, which I like the best. I have a pair of earrings and a new vial completed, waiting for pictures and listings. Stay tuned!

I also have to upgrade my blog. I've had it for a while and the technology has been improved but if I modernize it, I may loose alot of my current settings and it was made so hastily that it's like cleaning up your garage.

So I'm considering a few blog services and choose which one I'll move to. Meanwhile I've been more or less blogging through my picture uploads at Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/lorj/). If Flickr would just make a blog service, it would be perfect!
