Norway's leading female biathlete Liv Grete Skjelbreid Poiree, triple world champion and double silver medallist from the 2002 Olympics, will skip the 2002/2003 competition season. Skjelbreid Poiree, married to the 3 times world cup winner Raphael Poiree and living in France, is expecting her first child in January 2003. Skjelbreid Poiree hopes be able to train as much as possible during her pregnancy, her long term goal will the 2006 Olympic games in Turin. Neither she nor her husband have Olympic gold. 07.04.02 A great finish of the season for Liv Grete with 3 individual gold medals + 1 relay gold in the Norwegian Championships in Norfjordeid this weekend. 31.03.02 The Norwegian championships will be arranged at Norfjordeid from april 2nd to april 7th. 31.03.02 Liv Grete ended second in the total worldcup. Magdalene Forsberg from Sweden won the world cup again as she did last season. 21.03.02 - 24.03.02 The worldcups last races was arranged at Holmenkollen this weekend and Liv Grete finished the season with a 6th place in the sprint and a 4th place in the pursuit. There were also arranged a World Championship in mass start where Liv Grete enden 12th after 8 misses on the shootings. Olena Zubrilova from Ukrain won the race. 14.03.02 - 17.03.02 Liv Grete ended 8th in the sprint in Lahti and in the pursuit she ended 6th. The Norwegian team ended 5th in the relay. 09.03.02 - 10.03.02 Victory in the sprint and a fourth place in the pursuit was Liv Gretes results in the world cup races in Sweden this weekend. 19.02.02 Meet Liv Grete in the Norwegian newspaper VG's internet meeting tonight at 01.00 AM. 18.02.02 SILVER to Norway on the relay in Salt Lake City! Ann Elen Skjelbreid, Linda Tjørhom, Gunn Margit Andreassen and Liv Grete Skjelbreid Poiree did all compete on the Norwegian team. Olga Pyleva won the race and Kati Wilhelm ended second. Irina Nikoultchina from Bulgario was very strong at the end of the race and beat Liv Grete just before the finish line and took thus a very surprising bronze medal. 13.02.02 Liv Grete lost the bronze medal to Magdalena Forsberg from Sweden on the last lap in the sprint event in Salt Lake City today. Kati Wilhelm from Germany won the race and her teammate Uschi Disl won the silvel medal. Liv Gretes fourth place is however a very good basis before the pursuit on Saturday. With only one miss on the four shootings Liv Grete won the silver medal on the 15 km today. Andrea Henkel from Germany won the race with less than a 10 seconds margin to Liv Grete.
