SYLRA expedition to Svalbard JW1SYL 2009

Polar fox outside our Guesthouse. The main street of Longyearabyen settlement and the statue is of a miner as coal mining was of essense for Svalbard industry. Here you can see the erected beam infront of the shack for JW5E - now called Mathiasbu after JW5NM Mathias SK in October last year.

Infront of Polarriggen from left Unni 2, Liz and Nicky. The same Yls pluss Unni 1 who are going to Shetland in August. Most of the participants went on a tour to Barentsburg. Since both Ingrid and Unni have been there prior to this trip, we choosed to go to Pyramiden the day after. Our last dinner together at Polarriggen. Here the late Mathias JW5NM was also present together with his XYL Inger JW8KT.
