13.July 2007: soon coming updates

TASK RESULTS  / COMMENTS
1. Boring and honing of left cylinder, new 0,5mm oversize piston. This was noisy and with the original bore.
The other two cylinders was newly bored & honed.
First I received a Wiseco piston wich the rings was splitted in the intake port-probably for the1969 with bridged intake port- not usable.
Now I have an original piston, waiting for the rings in few days.   Should be OK during Oct.-05

Tested the Wiseco piston; made "pingle" sound. Had to stop engine-- Piston had signs of seizure.

OK, beginning of November: Bore was to tight-- Honed up a little extra to get the correct clearance. New original +0,5 piston installed (bought on ebay). Engine runs OK!

2. Change of fork seals, new received will be changed after end of season

3. Front sprocket seal leaks oil, new received, change after EOS

Seal looks not so bad but hope it helps to change both the seal and the sprocket spacer bushing.

4. Front break wire seems to short & not original, new received, change after EOS

5. Kicker is still an unoriginal but matching Suzuki brand (like it was in 1985), used original received, to change after EOS

6. Rear grab rail needs new "ears" for fixing to the frame and rechrome

7. Handle bar and fork top nuts needs new chrome

8. Rear sprocket is worn and may be changed this winter, will check the limits

9. Carb top rubbers needs to be replaced before next season, New replica received in November.

10. Break shoes front and rear to be checked during the winter, new are received in case the old are worn out.
11. Fuel cock assy to be disassembled cleaned, replace worned gasket & diaphragm if necessary. (Fuel cock is automatic vacum actuated from one of the carbs).
12. Carbs to be disassembled and checked, new carb kits received in case gaskets, needles or jets are worn out.
13. Measuring of clutch disks and springs, if necessary change.
14. Check oil pump measure displacement. and cranc case oil passages for clogging, blow with compressed air
15. Check crank case oil passages for clogging, blow with compressed air  June 2007: Done, all OK
16. Measure crank rod clearance and Crankshaft runout, concider crancshaft overhaule.(balancing, new rods & bearings.

June 2007: Seems OK, only have to change the outer left seal (behind the alternator rotor). There was oilfilm in the aternator house. The seal was damaged, probably changed without splitting the engine halfs and in addition damaged by some mechanical impacts from tools trying to remove the stator without special tool.

17. New side grabs received, old was missing.
