Sample with correct decals/colours |
Kawasaki H1 500, 1971 mod.
Picture in the middle taken in 1979, was bought by my brothers in Grimstad, Norway
in 1977.
Note the skin on the seat which was "in" that time.
Also the
"power" KN filters, expansion mufflers and the T-T handle bar was typical additional
equipment.
This bike was newly painted, the decals are not original and the turn signal and steering damper was optional on this model.
The H1 was only imported to Norway from 1969 to 1971, but continued until
1976 (KH500) in the US and other countries.
This bike was sold in 1980,
next owner upgraded and tuned the engine, painted it black and after that it had additional 3 or 4 owners in
the Arendal region
before it ended in the east of the country, probably in bits and pieces.
.........Or
who knows?
February 2006: Well, finally I
checked it up: It is still existing, as far I know almost complete and run.
Same owner the last 10 years. Stored in a garage without plates.
............ Not for sale...!
