Jeg heter Britt Nyberg, er innvandret svensk, og her kan dere lese litt om meg.

Hvordan det begynte. Jeg tilbrakte mesteparten av barn og ungdomstiden i utlandet (Jamshedpur, Bihar i India samt Minato-ku, Tokyo i Japan), og det var da vi flyttet til Japan som jeg ble kjent med, og forelsket i, Akitaen. Med huset, som familien vår flyttede inn i, inngikk det en "vakthund" som hette "Bingo", en schæfer x akita, og da våknet nysgjerrigheten på hvordan en akita var og så ut. Den første "ekte" Akitaen vår familie fikk se, var en magnifik tigret Champion hannhund og dermed var det gjort. Det var Akita som ble rasen med stort "R" fra den dagen. Det gikk ikke så lang tid etter det møtet før vi kjøpte oss en Akita, en hvit hannvalp som vi oppkalte etter Hachiko, den berømte trofaste Akitaen "Chuken Hachiko" i Japan (vi kalte ham "Hatchan" til daglig).

Sverige. Familien min ble også en av de aller første som introduserte rasen i Sverige, tidlig på 70-tallet, da vi flyttet hjem igjen med "Hatchan" (Fujimaru of Saisho Kensha, fra Goromaru / Ichinoseki-linjen). Han fikk noen år senere selskap av tispen "Mitchan" (Hanako-Go of Sakuno Keitaro).

Første hundene. Min første "egne" hund var Schæferen "Bischa" (Ingodd's Tabischa), en hund som jeg overtok fra Hundeskolen i Sollefteå i Sverige hvor jeg arbeidet i slutten av 70-tallett. Det tok ikke lang tid før jeg i tillegg gikk til innkjøp av min første egne Akita. "Kaze" (Kamikaze-Hima) var en mørk tigret hannhund, som valgte meg og ikke omvendt, og vi opplevde mye sammen inklusive at Kaze fikk spille rollen som "ulv" på en teater i Stockholm i et halv år. Etter ham kom flere Akitaer og alle unike på sin måte. I tillegg til Akitaene vi har her hjemme nå, vil jeg spesielt nevne "Kaze's" barnebarn "Chokita" (Kintos Kenzo) som ble BIR på JKCs 2.e Japanspesial i Ransäter den 31/7 1994. Gromjinta "Chokita" ble 13,5 år. 2009 gikk min "Hana" bort. Hun ble 13 år og jeg var heldig som fikk være med å skape så mange minner i de årene sammen med henne. Hun blir i mitt hjerte for alltid.

Verv. Siden den gang har det vært Akita, Akita og atter Akita, både hunder, kurser, seminarer; oppstart av den svenske Akita klubben, AIS, i 1980, inklusive forskjellige verv i de svenske og norske Akita klubbene; i bruskhundklubber da jeg trente og konkurrerte med min første Akita "Kaze". Jeg har reist rundt om i Europa, og truffet mange gode venner som er like engasjert i Akita rasen. I dag sitter jeg som sekretær og i Norsk Akita Klubb sunnhetsutvalget, samt er styremedlem i WUAC (World Union of Akita Clubs).

Dommer. Jeg fikk oppfylt min drøm i 2006 og ble autorisert som hundedommer. I dag er jeg autorisert på rasene Berner Sennenhund, Akita, American Akita, Shiba, Hokkaido, Kai, Kishu og Shikoku, Koreansk Jindo, Podenco, Etnahund, Podengo rasene samt Faraohund, Eurasier og de polare hunderasene Alaskan Malamute, Samojedhund samt Grønlandshund.

Oppdrett og familien. Jeg har kennel KINTOS sammen med Dag Rune Egge og kennelens første Akita kull ble født i 1985. Vi har Akita tispene "Kalen" (KKaren Go Kurashiki Wakamatsusou) 4,5 år, "Aibu" (Aibu del Sol Levante) 8 år, Corgi hannhunden "Rocky" (Dobscot's Albert R. Aaberg) 5 år. I tillegg til disse hundene sameier vi Akita hannhunden "Targo", et avkom etter "Chiki", med Tina Gävert (Milstolpen's kennel) i Sverige, samt tiken "Mina" fra Frankrike med Tina Gävert og Gull-Britt Jansson (Lucky Swede's) i Sverige. Mange lange turer blir det med hundene, litt hundekjøring (jeg pleide å kjøre hundespann med 5 Akitaer) samt trening og mye aktivitet med hundene.
Min sønn Fredrik, min gitarspillende solstråle, bor i Oslo sammen med sin "jinte" Ida, og jobber om datakonsulent.
Jeg har også et liv utenom hundene og er meget glad i å reise å oppleve andre land og dess folk, fotografere samt alt som har med Japan å gjøre.
Men aller øverst på listen står familien, slekten og vennene.

My name is Britt Nyberg, I am a full-blooded Swede residing in Norway, and here is my story, as far as it goes.

How it all began. I spent most of my childhood abroad (Jamshedpur, Bihar in India and in Minato-ku, Tokyo in Japan), and it was when we moved to Japan I discovered, and fell in love with, the Akita. Our new home in Japan came with a "watchdog" called "Bingo", a German Shepherd/Akita cross and it was at that point that my curiosity arose as to what the Akita was like. The very first purebred Akita our family was introduced to, was a magnificent brindle Champion male and I knew straight away that I had lost my heart! From then on the Akita has been the breed with Capital "B". It didn't take long before we bought ourselves a purebred Akita, a white male we called Hachiko (or "Hatchan" for short)  after the famous Akita "Chuken Hachiko" in Japan.

Sweden. My family was one of the pioneers of the breed in Sweden, back in the early 70's, when we brought "Hatchan" (Fujimaru of Saisho Kensha, of the Goromaru/Ichinoseki lineage) back with us from Japan, and some years later he was accompanied by the bitch "Mitchan" (Hanako of Sakuno Keitaro) also from Japan .

First dogs. My first "own" dog was the German Shepherd, "Bischa" (Ingodd's Tabischa), which I took over from the Dog Training School in Sollefteå in Sweden where I had been working in the late 70's, but it didn't take long before I had bought my very first own Akita. "Kaze" (Kamikaze-Hima) was a black-brindle male, who chose me rather than the opposite way around, and we exerienced ta lot ogether, including that Kaze came to play the part of a "wolf" at a theatre in Stockholm for half-a-year. After him came several other Akitas, all unique in their own way. Besides the Akitas at home I especially wish to mention "Kaze's" grand-daughter "Chokita" (Kintos Kenzo) who became BOB at the 2nd JKC Speciality Show in Ransäter on July the 31st 1994. She was a true sweetheart who passed away at the age of 13,5 years old. My Hana passed away in 2009. She turned 13 and I am blessed to have been able to share so many years with her, creating everlastin memories. She'll stay in my heart forever.

Club Activity. Since then it has been Akitas, Akitas and... Akitas, both dogs, courses, seminars. I participated in founding the Swedish Akita Club in 1980 and have since then had varying tasks in both the Swedish and the Norwegian Akita Clubs, in Dog Training Clubs when I used to train and compete with my first Akita "Kaze", travels across Europe to see Akitas, plus providing me with the opportunity to get to know many other Akita fanciers . Today I'm the secretary of the Norwegian Akita Club, a member of our Club's Health Comission and also a committee member of the WUAC (World Union of Akita Clubs).

Judge. I was able to fullfill my dream in 2006, and became a licenced showjudge. Today I am authorized to judge the Bernese Mountain Dog, the Akita, the American Akita, the Shiba, the Hokkaido, the Kai, the Kishu and the Shikoku,the Korean Jindo Dog , the Podenco, Podengo breeds, Ibizan hound, Cirneco Dell'etna, Pharaoh Hound, the Eurasian and the Nordic Breeds: Alaskan Malamute, Samoyed and Greenland Dog.

Kennel and family. I have the kennel KINTOS together with Dag Rune Egge and the kennel's first Akita litter was born in 1985. We now have two Akita bitches, "Kalen" (Karen Go Kurashiki Wakamatsusou) 4,5 yrs, and "Aibu" (Aibu del Sol Levante) 8 yrs, the Corgi male "Rocky" (Dobscot's Albert R. Aaberg) 5 yrs.  I also co-own the Akita male "Targo", a Chiki offspring, with Tina Gävert (Milstolpen's Kennel) in Sweden, plus a bitch, "Mina" from France with Tina Gävert and Gull-Britt Jansson (Lucky Swede's) in Sweden.
I've tried mushing (I used to go mushing with 5 Akitas), I also do quite a bit of hiking with the dogs and activate them and train them in variuos ways.
The sunshine of my life - my guitar playing son Fredrik - lives in Oslo, together with his girlfriend Ida, and works as a computer consultant.
I do have a life besides the dogs and I really enjoy travelling and experiencing other countries and it's people, I photograph a lot and everything that is "Japanese" intrigues me.
But above all I cherish my family, my relatives and my friends.
