ON WEST EUROPEAN / NORWEGIAN GENEALOGY / HISTORY

An Olive tree growing near the le-Pont-du-Gard west of Avignon, France, started its life ca. AD 709.
This tree may represent the human descendants from the oldest times.

Oslo is the capital of Norway and the Oslofjord is the sealane to Oslo. Here at Vestfold, Norway. This is vikingland.

The Old Borre Church, Vestfold, ca. AD 1100.

Do not trust history, genealogy or the internet blindly. Click here to see.

The older the genealogical data gets, the more uncertain the data becomes. Data being older than from before AD 1600 is as a rule inaccurate. Data even older than from before AD 1300 cannot be trusted. I've read that there is very little written history from AD 600 to AD 900.
It's recommended to have some knowledge of history when planning one's future.

PHOTOGRAPHS.

Postcards like this one were in use around AD 1905.

The Norwegians started out as a tribe of barbarians. (ca. 500 BC - ca. AD 800)
From ca. AD 800 to AD 1387 they were participating in establishing European Administration as well as establishing their own Administration.
They had it all screwed up by AD 1387, because of civil warring and, as a consequence, they fell under Danish administration, which lasted until AD 1814.
In AD 1814 the Danes sold Norway and the Norwegians to the Swedes, as a flock of sheep. They suffered under the Swedes until AD 1905, because the Swedes did not have capital to spend on infrastructures in Norway.
From AD 1905 the Norwegians ruled themselves. In AD 1930 they made a disaster out of their economy and enhanced the disaster by losing their freedom when being occupied by the German nazis in AD 1940.
Read all about it here:

under Sweden from AD 1814
and by itself from AD 1905

ON INDIVIDUAL GOALS.

To achieve a guaranteed minimum income and a particular income the individual is thought to deserve as compared with others.

ON FREEDOM.

To be free is when he/she needs to obey no person but the laws only.

ON IDEAS.

Few discoveries are more irritating than those, which expose the pedigree of ideas.

            Lord Ecton.

ON UTOPIA.

What has always made a state a hell on earth has been precisely that man has tried to make it his heaven.

F. Hoelderlin.

ON FREEDOM AND ORGANIZATION.

The socialists believe in two things, which are absolutely different and perhaps even contradictory: Freedom and Organization.

            Elie Halevy.

ON EQUALITY.

The finest opportunity ever given to the world was thrown away because the passion for equality made vain the hope for freedom.

Lord Acton.

ON SECURITY AND FREEDOM.

The whole of society will have become a single office and a single factory with equality of work and equal pay.

Nicolay Lenin (1917)

ON THE ABANDONED ROAD.

A program whose basic thesis is, not that the system for free enterprise for profit has failed in this generation, but that it has not been tried.

F.D. Roosevelt.

THE LAW OF NATURAL SELECTION, the survival of the fittest.

Charles Darwin.

(Charles Darwin's Law cannot be verified, because it stresses 'competition'.
'Cooperation' is as readily observed and perhaps more important.
Example. What is a human body but a collection of different kinds of cells and viruses in full cooperation creating together a complex organism?)
