Official Material

IMPORTANT NOTICE: These albums are part of my private collection, and they're NOT FOR SALE !
This site is for information and reference purposes only.

I've tried to cross- and doublecheck all information I've given here, but if you start searching, I'm sure you'll be able to find a few errors that have managed to escape my attention. Sorry for this.

I'd also like to say to all my trading-partners over the years, and especially to the people who used to be on the original Hey-Joe Mailing List in the late 1990's. This collection wouldn't have been the same without you !

This list includes LPs, CDs, Tapes, VHS cassettes, DVDs, Blu-Ray discs ... and two LaserDiscs and two 8 track cartridges.
All releases consist of "original" Polydor / Reprise / MCA / Experience Hendrix studio-recordings 1966-70 unless otherwise indicated.
Detailed recording-info is only provided for live-material and interviews.
All listed Videos are VHS / PAL format unless otherwise indicated.
This list also includes a handfull of CDR-copys of rare vinyl-albums that I haven't been able to track down ... yet ;-)

For more detailed information: Please refer to Just ask the Axis or the online-version of "Plug Your Ears" for setlists, and to "From the Benjamin Franklin Studios" and the Jimpress-magazine for tracklists. At the bottom of this page you'll also find some more links that may prove useful in this or other regards.

The latest additions to the collection are marked (Some of these discs may be in transit).

AND DON'T FORGET YOUR BROWSER CAN DO WORD SEARCHES IN THIS PAGE!

American visitors please observe that all dates are given in the European format: Day / Month / Year.
Also, country-spesific letters (such as the German "Ü" and the Scandinavian "Ö") have been changed to the nearest English equivalent, and
English city names (such as "Cologne" instead of "Koln" and "Copenhagen" instead of "Kobenhavn") are being used throughout the list.

Please refer to the "Unofficial material"-list for unedited and more complete versions of most of the Concert-recordings featured on the official Hendrix-releases listed here.

And while we're at it ...
Here's some Hendrix-related news in case you've missed it:
A previously unreleased (and "unknown") version of "Burning Of The Midnight Lamp" has been released on the compilation album "Radio Tymes - British Pop on TV and Radio - Lost and Found 1967-196" (Top Sounds TSSCD 006, also available in vinyl format). The Recording was made for the BBC Show "Dee Time" on 24.08.67, and features a studio backing track with live vocals.
The fourth wave of Sony Legacy's Hendrix releases has hit the streets, and consists of a reworked and expanded version of the 1971 album "In The West" featuring extra tracks, a 4CD/8LP set culled from the october 1968 concerts at Winterland, San Francisco, CA, plus reissues of the DVDs "Blue Wild Angel: Live at the Isle of Wight" (with some additional footage) and "The Dick Cavett Show". A special edition of the Winterland box set - including an exclusive Bonus CD featuring the San Francisco portion of the previously released Dagger CD "Paris 1967 / San Francisco, CA 1968" - is available through Amazon.com (among others), and a 1CD highlights version of the set is also available, along with the CD single "Like A Rolling Stone" and the 7" Vingle single "Johnny B.Goode", both featuring non-album tracks as B-sides.
The new and updated 2nd edition of Gary Geldeart & Steve Rodhams book "Jimi Hendrix - The Studio Log" is now available, and so is the 3rd edition of "From The Benjamin Franklin Studios". Both these books - well, actually all 4, as FTBFS3 comes as 3 volumes - are well worth checking out. Details are available here.
... and Jimi Pass It On
and Crosstowntorrents are of course still the places to be if you want to keep up with what's happening in the music-world of Jimi Hendrix!
