In Lyngen you find the famous Lyngen

above the sea with Jiehkkevárri being 1833m. In north the
mountains go straight into the sea. The mountains are popular both to
mountain climbers and hikers.

Fuglöya
-'Bird Island' with it's steep
mountains that go into the sea lies in the ocean and can be
seen from Russelv and Nord- Lenangen. Here about 4o bird
species hatch in colonies. Among these, Puffins are the
most numerous with about 300.000 pairs. The bird is
protected, but from Vannöy north from Tromsö voyages are
arranged out to Fuglöya. Bird safari's are also arranged in
Finnmark, from
Gjesvaerstappan 15 km west from Nordcap cliff. It is not allowed to go
ashore on the island but from the boat you can observe Finnmarks
biggest species of Lunde birds and a
lot
of
a seagull specie -'Rissa tridactyla' called 'Krykkje' in norwegian. |
Whale Safari:
You can drive to
Andøya from Troms and shorten the time to get there by sailing
from Gryllefjord. The three Senja ferris connect the islands of
Vesterålen, Senja and the regions of Harstad. They are a part of
the coastal route - the Whale Route from Andøya - and also give
trevellers a lot of other options of choosing in which way to take
through
the islands of Lofoten, Vesterålen and the southern parts of
Troms.
