Immigration to Great Britain  (Multicultural UK)
The learning target  for  the "International English" course says: "elaborate on and discuss various aspects of multicultural societies in the English-speaking world." It does  not state any date requirements, so most textbooks take it to primarily mean immigration after WWII.

In 1998 it was 50 years since the Empire Windrush docked in Tilbury with close to 500 West Indian immigrants on board. BBC has made a comprehensive web site about this important event in British Immigration history. In 2008 the Imperial War Museum initiated an exhibition called From War to Windrush to commemorate the 60th anniversary .

The new commonwealth immigrants have since their arrival made a significant impact on contemporary British literature as you can see on this BBC site: Black British Literature since Windrush.
