SIGHT SEEING:  On Sunday 1st June the meeting were joined by several one-day, Danish participants. A serious lot went for sight seeing in the beautiful countryside outside Svendborg. Here the colonna stops at the  Landet church, dated back to 1200 century. At the church yard the famous couple Elvira Madigan and lieutenant Sixten Sparre is buried (1889). This Scandinavian  story of "forbidden" love was dramatized and filmed by the Swedish director Bo Widerberg in 1967. He also made Mozart's piano concert # 21 widely known as the Elvira Madigan suite, by using it as the movies background theme.

The yard also give rest to two British airmen, a gunner and navigator, who's bomber went down nearby in 1944 (below right).

 

The 1. Danish International Lotus Seven meeting took place in and around the city of Svendborg at the Fyn island May 31st and June 1st 2003.

   The event was hosted by the Danish Lotus Club, human powered by the brothers Leo and Martin Jenbo, Regin Jensen, Bo Stonor Johansen and Mikkel Thomsager.

THE FLYING Norwegians arrives Friday 29th June at the Danhostel in Svendborg. Philip Jewell, Gordon Morris and John W. Watson, England -  welcomes  Ornulf Hjort-Sorensen (in black) in his 1964 SII. and Vidar Overland in his 1987 Caterham Super Sprint. The British cars, already adding beauty to the first rate, early summer evening.

 Lady and gentlemen: Norwegian S4- companion Brit Stokvik with the UK gents, John W. Watson, Gordon Morris and Philip Jewell.  Well known fellow from the Lotus Seven Club of Great Britain, John W. Watson, the pot and pan registrar and Lotus Seven owners favored advisor.  Mr. Watson Saturday evening won the informal and internal competition "most favored car by fellow participants", His  immaculate S1 is a benchmark sample.

Still Watson's engine, twin SU H1 carburettors on special manifold developing 43bhp at 5,200rpm. Mr. Morris' S2 suddenly died in the sun. It turned out to be a broken wire to the generator. Traveling, as any seven'er  should with a well assorted repair kit, the connection was fixed.
