introduction

My name is Arve Gudal, living in Drammen, Norway.  

My main interest is ships in all shapes and sizes: ship modelling and preserving old ships.  Models are presented on my model boat page.  Currently I am chairman of our local club, the Vestfold Model Båt Klubb, VMBK (Vestfold Modelboat Club).  VMBK is a RC scale model boat club allowing electric, steam and sail in our club, no IC engines. 

Preserving old ships is another interest; the Christiane is on top of my list.  Christiane was launched in 1879, she is the only remaining local ship built on the east coast of Norway.  Owned by the Sea Scout Group she is used as their training ship.  Having spent "hours" working for that ship for 20 years and enjoying numerous great experiences aboard sailing with young people or friends, she has been a big part of my life for a long time.

Model train is another hobby.  I have no space for a layout so I collect and admire my Märklin train models.  Lately I have also build a Wedico truck, and believe me, that was fun. 

Being above 50 I have reduced my spare time activities to model building and spending time at our cottage in the mountain.
