Mystras located on the Peloponnese is a Byzantine city not too far from the town of Sparta. If you drive by car not only will you have to walk to the top, you will also have to walk all the way back down, which is as good a way as any of seeing as much as possible, assuming you take two different routes up and down. Winding pathways and alleys lead you past medieval houses, churches, palaces, archways, etc. At the top there is a castle, and the vegetation on the hillside is lush
