New streaming site

A new DAoC video site has emerged: Bluesplayer DAoC. It has all the Praxix: Rechambered videos available in a streaming format (no downloads available). It has a good layout and a growing number of movies, so check it out. May it last (much) longer than camelotmovies.net! There's even a whole forum just for Praxix videos: http://bluesplayer.co.uk/media/smf/index.php?board=176.0. I've started posting some details for each episode about how it was made etc, check it out if you're curious. You'll have to register in order to post.

Praxix needs your help!

Did you ever want to be famous? To have your voice featured on a character in Praxix: Rechambered? Your chance is now! I have 3 very small parts that I need covered. The characters only have a couple of lines each but you'll get your name in the credits, if you're up to the task. The scripts can be downloaded here. What you got to do is record yourself reading the lines in your favorite soundrecording program, preferrably at 44,100Hz, then mail it off to praxiix at yahoo.com. Exchange the "at" for an @ ofcourse and remember there's a double i in praxiix. Make sure you replay them before you send them to make sure they sound OK. If your work is selected I'll paste your soundbites into the finished production. Don't forget to include under what name you want to be credited. You can record all 3 if you want but I'll only select one per person as diverse voices sound a lot better.

So, for the status report. Work has been slow lately but I now have a real hope to release episode 8 by christmas.

Total recorded length is now 26 minutes 56 seconds.

I've moved, and will be offline until my ISP gets off its arse in about 2 weeks and hooks me up.

In the meantime I'll be working on episode 8 (as far as possible without net access), in between sewing curtains, buying sofas, mounting bookshelves, painting the bedroom and all that jazz.

A new website was recently launched, it has great download speed and a growing number of DAoC movies: http://camelotmovies.net. They have one of my movies already, I'll try to get the rest uploaded there in the fullness of time.

Episode 8 update

(Update 2006-07-03) Bumped percentages and made 3 new preview screenshots

No, it's not dead. It is, however taking longer than expected. Episode 8 will have about 5 times as much post-processing as any other episode, and that sort of thing takes time. I like to actually play the game too, sometimes. Below is a progress report which I will update once in a while as work nears completion:

In other news, I finished episode 6 subtitle file for those who asked for it. Activate it the usual way.

Praxix: Rechambered - Episode 7

Episode 7 is out! It's hosted on Archive.org as usual, download page is here. (Edit: Fast mirror is up here.) This is definitely the most work-intensive episode yet, despite the relatively short (6:46) duration. It has a large amount of sound effects and post-processing, not to mention some shots that were rather tricky with just 2 PCs. Go to the Praxix: Rechambered page for more episodes.

Also, behold the new webpage design in all its terrible majesty. The old one sucked and wasn't IE compatible. This one is pretty standard but better.
