GILLESPIE - "Dana's
going to be a superstar, says Mrs David Bowie"
ARTICLE (magazine page 9)
Quote from Angie herself not unknown as the zingy wife of rock star David Bowie: "Many people didn't watch Marilyn Monroe's movies. She was lovely and just her face and smile were enough. For me Dana's smile is enough. And she can sing, too!"
Dana began singing when she left school at 15 and now writes most of her songs. She has also provided her versatility – she played Mary Magdalena in the London stage musikal Jesus Christ Superstar, appeared in the highly-praised production of Shakespare’s The Tempest at the Old Vic, and is Mahler’s mistress in Ken Russell’s controversial film on the Austrian composer.
Her first solo rock album “Weren’t Born A Man” – probably the understatement of 1974 – was released a few months ago.
it’s all happening for the 5ft 8in daughter of a London doctor and
her very good mate, Angie, an inch taller and a year younger at 24, is
determined she will be a big star...
