Patient : Frank Vaage- sick for 5 or more years- started with abdominal problems, fatigue and joint pains,no clear cause for this, but antibiotics cured him for approx. 4-6 months.then he got sick again. This was done 3 times, with 7 days of combination therapy each time.- Last known tick bite in summer 2007.- Autumn 2007 filled with symptoms, back pain, neck pain, influenza, sore throat(several times),also cognitive symptoms, loss of libido, insomnia, fatigue, sweat attacks, needle pains in knees, swollen fingers and legs, cold freeze,etc.- Spring was like autumn, but in may 2008 he was hospitalized fot 10 days with high fever and swollen rash in hands and in face, diagnosed to be erythema nodosus and erythema annulare. He was given iv amoccillin, but had an reaction after 2 days, and treatment was stopped. The patient has been on amoxillin before without any allergic reaction.- After this he got shaking in his right foot(clonus)- In juli he got back to hospital, and was tested for HIV,which was negative.- In august he had MRI,spinal puncture, and nevrological examinations.- In august he was diagnosed with ALS.- In September he tested positive for borrelia at BCA.- In October he started IV treatment.- Wb was weakly positive, and he had low cd 3\57.- After 8 weeks of treatment he tested positive on elisspot, this happens in 36 % of patients.- After 12 weeks a lot of his symptoms was better, but unfortunately he detoriatet rapidly when treatment was stopped.Chronic   persistent neuroborreliose can be very hard to treath, and it can take years with medications to get free of symptoms.Mr Vaage responded well to ceftrixone, so this seems to be a good drug for him.Without this medication his condition may be fatal. On BCA we have threated similar cases with great results.Borreliose can mimic MS,ALS,CFS, and a lot of other diseases.Normal tests for borreliose has very low reliability, but on BCA we have better tests, and better methods.THERE ARE NO DOUBTS ABOUT HIS DIAGNOSE!!!!!!!!!!!Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.Kind regardsPHYSICIAN AT BCA
