Agvald is now the largest male of Litter A
and he is becoming absolutely beautiful. Although he still has a kitten
coat, he has a strong overcoat and long ear tufts. He is very
sweet and can play gently with Emma for ages (no claws).

Summer with kittens!
Mid
June we bravely packed the two cats, six kittens and 8 month old Emma
into the car and travelled south to our cottage at Lista, southern
Norway. The kittens have thrived on the coast and they have become
brave, happy cats that enjoy playing with little Emma (under
supervision of course). Here you can see Agvald playing with Emma.
After a long summer we are making the long
journey north to the farm in Gausdal, a few kittens shorter, 13
August
2008.

Like a
small lynx, the Norwegian Forest Cat is part of Norway's fauna. This
breed has been described in Norwegian folklore, where it is said that
these cats were the family pets of the Vikings. It is easy to
understand why Norwegian Forest Cats are described as a "Fairy Cats"
that we chance upon when out in the forest -
with their long, elegant bodies and flowing, bushy tails.
This is an old breed which, as early as the sixteenth century, were
described as being large, with long legs, thick fluffy double-layered
coats, big ruffs, ear tufts, and long bushy tails.
They are an intelligent, robust and playful breed that like the
outdoors, are great hunters and like the company of people.
