17. mai
Barnetoget ankommer Rådhusplassen
| Barnetoget starter klokken 10,
The childrens procession on may 17. starts already
at 10AM, and is the main attraction of this Norwegian national celebration
day. The procession was 1-2 kilometers long, with thousands of participents
walking through the streets of Haugesund, surrounded by thousands on the
sidewalks. It ended up on the town hall square.
Sørhauggaten er fyllt,
fra ende til annen

north to Rådhusplassen

Hurra-ropene runger, og
flaggene svinges
"hurray" and all the small red, white and blue
flags waving in the sun.
Og alt er bare fest
And the celebration is fantastic!
