S.S. KRISTINA





S.S. Kristina was buildt in the beginning of 1870 in Borlänge , Sweden , by Erik Vedberg, Elof Olsson and "Gök" Harald Andersson.
Kristina came to Finspång 1982 when STAL - LAVAL buy the company INFRASONIC. After a major overhaul and restoration Kristina made her new maiden voyage in the summer 1984.
The same autum an steamengine from 1912 ,was modified to compound, to better the steameconomy and replace the simple one cylinder engine.
Even an turbogenerator and new electrical system was installed.
A real steamboat berth was build in the sea SKUTEN in Finspång.

Kristina traffic the waters of Skuten, Dovern and Glan every summer, by the ABB STAL Slottsklubb, with ABB employes and guests.
Under the summers Kristina has visit the channels of Göta, Kinda and Strömsholm.
Since 1984 Kristina have gone more than one around the world in this waters.

Kristina have an waterpipe boiler made by "Gök" Haral, with 121 tubes, 6 kvm and 150 liters with give 4 - 7 bar steam pressure.
The steamengine is an Hagman Näfvekvarn/Asea Stal, is build 1912, modified to compound 1985. 5 i.h.p at 150 rpm, Stehenson slides. The engine have a stroke on 116mm and the cylinder diam. HP 102mm ,LP 168 mm.
The propellar is 4 bladed and have the dimmenson 775x890 mm.

De Laval turbine type XD-100 from 1912 give 1.5 hp. The gear reduce the turbines 43000 rpm to the generators 4300 rpm. And provide Kristina with electrical power to lights.
