Early June, 2002

Early June 2002 finally saw some large progress on the body.  A friend of mine, a former car painter, and I started to fill the car. First, he grinded the car with 320 paper, then he had some heavy filler on the worst places. When he grinded afterwords, I didn't belive my eyes! The front is now as good as new.

Then, later the same, day we started spray-filling the front of the car. The pictures shown are from this day.
A week later we filled the roof, the engine cover and the boot-lid. Unfortunately I have no pictures from this. Now we only lack to fill the rear of the car, before we start painting it. I can't stop looking forward to it; within a month (...) the car will get its final color, which still is supposet to be very sharp yellow.

Now; let's look at the pictures:

Olav, my ex-painter friend, tells how he will grind and fill the front of the Europa. And I, the owner, just toys around with the camera...
The front, which nearly fell out when I removed the paint a couple of years ago - and which I had plastred together with fibreglass, got a special treatment with heavy filler, and looked as good as new afterwards. Unbeliveable!
The final grinding befor starting to fill the front of the car.
MGB GT in background is for sale, to make way for money to complete the Europa project.

If anyone feels for a months vacation in Norway to paint our house, please feel free to come!

Olav puts on the very first layer of filler on the car. I'm not sure if the neighbour likes the dust, but what the hell...
Oh, how that man works!
He was covered all over by grinding-dust after grinding the car, and after a dinner he filled the car like a professional.

Though; we don't think my small compressor will be good enough for the paint job in a months time. Guess I'll have to buy a bigger one...

The shadows tells how the day went during the grind and fill job. Totally we spent about 8 hours working on the front...
Nearly finished; the front is done, and it is time for a shower....
I'm impress how the look of the car changed after getting one complete color on the front; for a time I felt it was time to start it up and drive away....
