WHAT A WAY TO DRAIN THE COOLANT SYSTEM!

Too bad it isn't this easy when the body and engine are in place...

Unfortunately, the small crack in the front turned out to be the heaviest damage to the bodyshell. A lot of filler has been in use, actually so much that I can't remove everything. If I do, the front will fall off... Quite obviously; my 'daily driven' and 'near mint Lotus Europa' has been in a crash back in the hot California sometime. If I ever meet the seller.....  ££$@@¤#%& !

Anyone living near LaHabra, CA, is welcome to visit him and show him these pictures. Perhaps USD 2000 in parts for me could be a cheap way out for him??

Both engine and gearbox is original from 1970!

I was glad to find out this. The guy that is supposed to do the engine job has been looking at the engine. He will lighten the flywheel, put on two De'llorto'es (?), and make a new exhaust pipe; 4-2-1. He have the whole spring to do the work; I won't get the Europa back on the street this summer anyhow....

Obviously, stress to the upper wishbone via the shockabsorber has made the crossmembers-wings on both sides crack. There has also been put on a 'strengthener' on the top of the wings some time.

What to do:
Out with the angel grinder, in with fresh steel - and finally test if the welding-course three years ago was woth its money... Of course, I need to buy a MIG, first  ;-)

Nope, new info from march 10th; new chassis will be ordered from Fibreglass Service in UK.
