This page will give you an enhanced introduction of each character in Star Wars that I find relevant to put up on this page. There is all the main characters from the films (Luke, Han, Leia etc.), and some others, like the aliens that I find useful to know something about. Most of the information on this page, I have gotten from the Star Wars Customizable card game, and the Role-playing Game. At the bottom of the page, I have included a list of the most-known actors of Star Wars, what roles they had, etc.
Luke SkywalkerOn the planet Tatooine he lived with his uncle and aunt (or that was what he believed), the Lars family. After the Clone Wars, the Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi asked his brother and sister-in-law, Owen Lars and Beru Lars to take care of him, to raise Luke, the son of Kenobi's Jedi Apprentice who had foolishly been seduced by the Dark Side of the Force. So they did, and raised him with the proper values of home and hard work. Moisture farmers in the barren deserts of a twin-sunned world, Owen and Beru raised Luke as if they were his aunt and uncle. When he asked about his father, they lied to him, telling him only that his father had been a great pilot, and later, a navigator on a spice freighter. They were good parents, but feared Luke's potential destiny.
Ben watched over Luke from afar, hiding his own home in the barren and treacherous Jundland Wastes. Growing up, Luke only saw the "crazy hermit" a few times, including saving Luke and a friend when they crashed a skyhopper in Beggar's Canyon. Owen then ran him off the property, telling Obi-Wan to never return. Luke had a tremendous ability of flight and maneuvering aircraft's such as skyhoppers and landspeeders. He soon became good friend with another hotshot, Biggs Darklighter, as well as a crowd of kids o the nearby Anchorhead settlement. The jealous Fixer, sexy Camie, and tag- alongs Deak and Windy. Fixer and his friends nicknamed Luke Wormie. Biggs and Luke used to tag womp rats in Beggar's Canyon, where they flew in their T-16 skyhoppers. They both planned to go to the Imperial Space Academy together. Luke would want to get away from Tatooine for all that he wished for, because his friend Biggs Darklighter, had left Tatooine, and joined the Imperial Academy. While Luke saw his future in the stars, his uncle kept him firmly at work at the farm. Season after season, he turned down Luke's request to apply to the Academy. Meanwhile, Biggs had applied and been accepted to the Academy.
Out working one day, Luke saw what he was sure was a space battle above the planet. He quickly went to Fixer's shop in Tosche power station to tell his friends, and was surprised to see Biggs there. Biggs was about to embark on his first mission aboard the merchant ship Rand Ecliptic, as its first mate, and had returned to Tatooine to see Luke and his family. In private, Biggs told Luke that he was going to join the Rebellion.
Luke was right about the space battle. When Owen Lars bought two droids, R2-D2 and C-3P0, from the Jawas, Luke couldn't imagine the adventures he was about to tumble into. Artoo carried a hologram of a beautiful princess, which eventually led Luke to Ben Kenobi. At Ben's house, Luke learned that his father had been a Jedi Knight, who had been betrayed and murdered by Darth Vader. Ben gave Luke his father's lightsaber.
After Imperials had murdered his uncle and aunt in their search for the droids, Luke agreed to go with Ben to Alderaan, since he didn't have anything on Tatooine anymore. Luke was also to be taught in the ways of the Jedi like his father before him. Luke, Ben, and the droids booked passage on the Millennium Falcon, a modified YT-1300 freighter piloted by Han Solo and his Wookiee first mate, Chewbacca. As they headed toward Alderaan, Ben began teaching Luke the ways of the Force. But the training would not last long. The Falcon emerged from hyperspace where Alderaan should have been, only to find that the planet was no longer there. It had been destroyed by the Empire to intimidate the Rebels, and Leia, to give back the plans for the Death Star, the weapon used to blow up Alderaan. The Death Star, a massive space station was still nearby. The Death Star used the Tractor Beam and transported and captured the Falcon into a hangar docking bay. The Falcon's passengers was stowed away in the freighters smuggling holds. Ben soon left the ship to turn of the tractor beam and allow their escape. Although he warned Luke and Han to stay behind, they were soon engaged in an ill-planned attempt to rescue Princess Leia Organa. Amazingly, the plan worked, but Ben made a noble sacrifice to help the young heroes to get away. He was killed by Darth Vader, or at least was joined as one with the Force. The Falcon went to the Rebel Base on Yavin Four, where the technical read-outs of the Death Star were analyzed. Fighter pilots for X-wings and Y-wings were chosen from the ranks. Luke passed flight-simulator tests and was awarded a T-65B X-wing fighter, with Artoo-Detoo to fly as his onboard astromech droid.
Luke was reunited with his friend Biggs, also flying in the mission against the Death Star. Both were flying X-wings, with the Red Squadron, consisting of six very brave freedon-fighting Rebel Pilots. Red Leader was Garven Dreis had earlier served on Dantooine Rebel Base. Red 2 was Wedge Antilles, a rather significant man, being the only one surviving the attack on both Death Stars, and the battle of Hoth. Red 3 was Biggs, Red 4 was John D., an extremely young and inexperienced pilot who gets shot out of the sky in the midst of celebrating his first bulls-eye of an Imperial TIE fighter. Red 5 was piloted by Luke, and Red 6 by the man called Piggy by his friends, Jek Porkins. Unfortunately, Han Solo had decided not to join the mission, calling it a suicide run. Luke was sorry wo see the Corellian go, he had actually grown to like him.
When Red Leader's first strike team (Red Leader, Piggy and John D) was killed on their approach down the Death Star Trench, Luke, Biggs and Wedge started their run of destruction. Luke led, with Biggs and Wedge as backups. At that moment, Darth Vader and two TIE fighters dodged the trio. First Wedge's ship was hit and he had to abort the mission, and the Bigg's X-Wing was destroyed in a blast from Vader's TIE. Luke choked back his remorse over the loss of his friend and completed his run alone. With the timely arrival of the Millennium Falcon, Luke's pursuers were scattered. Ben's voice, reaching out from nowhere, telling him to use the Force. Shutting off his targeting computer and calmly reaching out with the Force, Luke fired his proton torpedo into the targeted thermal-exhaust port. His torpedo destroyed the Death Star, making him the hero of the day.
Over the following three years, Luke would become an integral part of the Rebel Alliance, flying on many missions, both solo and with many others. He found traces of Jedi and Force-strong individuals, but Luke was still largely untrained himself.
Luke was the one who discovered the ice planet of Hoth to become a Rebel Base after the evacuation of Yavin 4. He was promoted to commander, and later given the leadership of the Rogue Squadron. On Hoth, they mainly piloted snowspeeders, which were custom-modified Incom T-47 repulsorlift speeders. When the Imperials attacked the Rebel Base, the snowspeeders stalled the AT-ATs from crushing the Rebels, so that nearly every rebel successfully had evacuated the planet.
From there, Luke went to the Dagobah System, where he was told to go from the spirit of Ben when Luke was about to die from exposure of the cold climate of Hoth. He was to be taught in the ways of the Jedi from the one who had taught Obi-Wan. Yoda was the Jedi Master who had lived alone as a hermit on Dagobah. Luke and Artoo went to the dense swamp planet, crashing the X-wing into a watery bog. Shortly thereafter, Luke met this little green creature, who promised to lead Luke to the Jedi Master. Luke became impatient after having to listen to the little green man's jabbering.
It was then he found out the diminutive being was Yoda. The Jedi Master discussed Luke's future with the spirit of Kenobi. Then he commenced training Luke immediately. He lectured him about the Force while Luke performed rigorous physical and psychological exercises, warning him against the easy path of anger and the lure of the Dark Side. One of Luke's most difficult tests was when Yoda told him to go into a tree suffused with dark-side energy. When Luke asked what was inside, the enigmatic Master said, "only what you take with you".
Inside the tree, Luke dueled with an apparition that resembled Darth Vader - until the helmet cracked and Luke saw his own face. He too could become part of the Dark Side. Luke learned other valuable lessons when Yoda had him practice levitation using the Force. Luke despaired when he spotted his X-wing sinking in the bog. Yoda ordered him to use the same powers to raise his ship as he had on rocks and supplies. Luke said he'd try, but was cut off curtly by Yoda. "NO! Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try."
One time, whilst meditating, Luke saw a vision of his friends being in pain in a city in the clouds. Luke decided to go and try to help them, while both Yoda and Kenobi advised him not to, warning him that the decision could destroy everything his friends had fought for, and he was still very susceptible to the dark side of the Force. Torn between his knowledge that Yoda and Ben were right, and the visions of his friends in danger, Luke left Dagobah, promising to return to complete his training.
Bespin's Cloud City was a trap. Instead of his friends, Luke found Darth Vader. The two engaged in a tremendous lightsaber duel, and Vader finally drove Luke out onto a gantry above a reactor shaft. The Dark Lord distracted Luke long enough to cut off his right hand with a blow with the lightsaber. Luke's hand, still clutching the Lightsaber, fell down to the warm winds below. Knowing that Luke would now be very receptive and could easily be turned to the Dark Side, Vader told Luke the truth about his past. Ben had been hiding it all the time. Vader revealed himself as Luke's father. Vader tried to convince Luke to join him and the dark side, where they could overthrow the Emperor and rule the galaxy as father and son. Luke, having a moment of doubt, realized the monster his father had become, and calmly stepped of the platform, with the words "I'll never join you" still hanging in the air. He fell down the great shaft, but was sucked up into an exhaust pipe and emerged on the underside of the floating city, where he barely caught an electronic weather vane to stop his fall. Using the Force, he called out weakly to Leia, who was escaping the city aboard the Millennium Falcon. They turned back and rescued Luke as he was about to fall to his death. But as they flew away, Luke could feel Vader's presence in his mind. Back with the Rebel fleet, Luke received a new bionic hand, but while it and his lightsaber were replaceable, his innocence was not. Kenobi had lied to him, Vader had tempted him... Luke faced an uncertain future.
Soon afterwards, Luke was back at work with the Alliance, planning with Leia, Chewie and Lando Calrission the best way to rescue Han Solo form Jabba the Hutt. By the end of the rescue, Luke had helped destroy Jabba and save Han. Upon leaving Tatooine for the second time, Luke returned to Tatooine to finish his training, only to find that his master was dying. Luke was almost finished with his training. Only one thing remained before he was a knight of the light - a Jedi. He had to confront Vader. Yoda confirmed that Vader in fact was Luke's father. After the Jedi Master had passed away, he confronted the spirit of Ben and learned one even more shocking element of his past. Leia was his twin sister.
Torn by his feelings, Luke became moody and withdrawn. When the Alliance planned a mission to destroy the second Death Star above the forestmoon Endor, Luke chose not to fly with the Rogue Squadron. Instead he accompanied his friends on a strike force to the moon's surface. On Endor, Luke told Leia the truth about him and Vader, and that Leia was in fact his sister. Luke could feel Vader, waiting for him nearby. He needed to go to him, try to turn him back to the light side of the Force. He was brought to the Death Star, and the Emperor tried to turn him to the dark side. The Emperor had laid out a trap for his friends. The Death Star was fully operational. Luke attacked, and Vader defended his Master. Father and son, locked in deadly combat, and the Emperor laughing because Luke had seen the powers of the dark side and used them. But the Luke regained control of his anger and refused to fight.
Probing his son's feeling, Vader sensed something he had never seen before. The secret of Luke and Leia was out. Vader threatened Luke that Vader could turn Leia to the dark side if Luke resisted. The Jedi's calmness broke. Giving into the Dark Side, Luke attacked his father again and again, hacking and stabbing with his lightsaber. He had started to walk down the dark path. He beat his father down, chopping of his right hand. Seeing what he had done, Luke regained his consciousness, Refusing to step further into the Dark Side, Luke turned to the Emperor and told him that he was a Jedi, and would never go over to the Dark Side. Palpatine attacked him with lightning bolts from the Force. But as Palpatine prepared to give Luke the killing bolts, Vader rose from behind, lifted his Master into the air and threw him into the burning shaft of the power core. Vader tried to follow into oblivion, but Luke stopped him. Vader was dying, and requested Luke to let him see him with his own eyes. He told him that Luke was right, he still had good in him. And the he died. Luke took his armor to the moon of Endor. For a few moments, while others celebrated, he saw Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda and Anakin Skywalker all smiling to him. Kenobi and Yoda's pupil . and son of skywalker - was now and forever a Jedi. And his father a part of the light side of the Force once again.
After that, Luke had many significant adventures. One night, five years after the battle on Endor, Luke saw his mentor for the final time. Obi-Wan appeared to him, to give him an advice. He told Luke that Luke was not the last of the Old Jedi, but the first of the New. Shortly after, Luke was caught up in the battle against Imperial Grand Admiral Thrawn and his forces. He started to train with a mad clone of an old Jedi Master, Joruus C'Baoth. C'Baoth had created a clone of Luke, called Luuke. When Mara Jade killed Luuke, Luke and Leia joined her to kill C'baoth. Imperial forces reclaimed the Imperial City of Coruscant. The New Republic, as the Alliance had called themselves, had established a new temporary headquarters on the fifth moon of Da Soocha in the Cyax system. Lando, Wedge and Luke attacked Coruscant, but their ship crashed. Although the others escaped, Luke allowed himself to be sucked up into a crackling blue force storm. It transported him to an Imperial dungeon ship, where he was surprised to find the clone of Emperor Palpatine, alive and willing to teach him. The clone of Palpatine was not as C'Baoths. Palpatine moved his mind from clone to clone.
Luke, like a few others in the history of the Jedi, felt that he could learn about the dark side of the Force from within. As the training went on, Luke was sure he was staying with the light, but he was becoming corrupted. It wasn't until Leia, confronting him with her lightsaber flashing, that he realized how much he had almost lost. Working together, Luke and Leia destroyed the clone. They obtained a new source of help to learn about the Force, the Jedi Holocron. Having been made by the first students of the Force, it contained valuable information. Luke found the ancient center of Jedi Culture on Ossus. Students for the Force, as well as the ruins of a Jedi library. Luke decided to found a training place for Jedi when he realized that the training he was giving Leia and the other Force-powerful people he found was not enough, the Jedi Academy. He went through the galaxy, finding students for his Academy. He founded the Academy in the Great Temple of Massassi on the jungle moon of Yavin Four.
Skywalker trained his students in the ways of the Force, as his mentors had taught him.
The Evil Spirit of Exar Kun was trapped on Yavin 4. He was freed by the Jedi Apprentice Kyp Dyrron, who also helped him attack Luke, leaving the Jedi Master's body comatose. Luke's spirit survived in the netherworld of Exar Kun. Luke soon found that Kun had become adept of using the dark side of the Force to influence the living world. Over the following weeks, Kun used his powers to try to destroy Luke's body, but it was protected by the Jedi initiates, Leia and her two children, Jacen and Jaina. They destroyed the evil spirit, with the help of Luke's spirit and the spirit of Vodo Baas.
Luke's Twin nephew and niece, Jacen and Jaina, eventually arrived to train at his Jedi Academy. By then, many cycles of students had come to train, and many more were yet to come. Luke SKywalker has faced a destiny that was his before he was even born. In bringing back the ancient order of the Jedi, he has provided hope for the future, and a shining beacon for the light side of the Force.
Leia Organa SoloWatching her father work as a senator in the Old Republic, Leia learned the principles of justice and honor. She soon became the youngest senator in galactic history even as Palpatine made his ascent to power. Behind the scenes, Bail Organa was working with Mon Mothma and Garm Bel Iblis to formalize a Rebel Alliance against the new Emperor. Leia used her status as a senator to aid the growing Rebellion. Leia worked undercover for the Alliance, and passed a lot of information from the Empire to the Alliance. Leia learned of a new weapon, the Death Star. Trying hard to get the technical readouts to the station, after accomplishing, Leia was captured in her consulate ship by the Star Destroyer Devastator. Leia placed the plans in the astromech R2-D2 and sent him to the planet of Tatooine to get Obi-Wan Kenobi and bring the plans to Alderaan. The droids were captured by Jawas, and sold to Owen Lars. Darth Vader took Leia as his personal prisoner. Taking her to the enormous battle station Death Star, he treathened her, trying to make her say where the secret base of the Rebellion was situated. He used an Imperial Interrogation Droid, and tried using his own Force towards her, but could not get hold of the information he wanted. So, he let Grand Moff Tarkin treathen her. Tarkin claimed that he would destroy Leia's homeplanet Alderaan. Quietly, she admitted that the base was on Dantooine. But Tarkin ordered for termination of Alderaan anyway. Later, when he found out that she had been lying, he ordered for her termination.
Later, when her cell door in Detention Block AA-23 opened, Leia was surprised to find a short Stormtrooper ogling her. She soon found out it was Luke Skywalker, there with Ben Kenobi to rescue her. They got away from the Death Star safe, except for Ben making a sacrifice of his own life. They gave the plans to the Rebel Alliance.
Over the three years after the destruction of the Death Star, Leia would become more of an important force in the leadership of the Rebel Alliance. With Alderaan gone, she took on Luke, Han and Chewbacca as her family. Confused about her feelings for both Han and Luke, she still made good friends with them. As difficult and coarse as Han could be, he still ignited a fire in Leia's heart. She also had feelings for Luke, but they were not romantic. Some connection were there, a connection she was unable to fathom.
When she learned the news on Endor, that Luke and herself was direct heirs of Anakin Skywalker, and twins, she came to an understanding. Finally, after destroying the second Death Star, she admitted to Han that she would like to stay with him forever. A short while after, when the Republic Galactica had established its headquarters, Han and Leia had to reconcile their feelings for each other. The Hapan Prince Isolder asked for Leia's hand in marriage, and she considered the request; an earlier visit to Hapes had reminded her very much of Alderaan, and Isolder was stable and charming. Of course, Han wasn't about to give up without a fight, and he kidnapped Leia and took her to Dathomis, a planet he had won in a card game. But Han's schemes always took wrong turns. His romantic overture was interrupted by a war between to clans on the planet. However, by the time Luke and Isolder joined the battle and helped win it, Leia had decided that she was better off with the roguish scoundrel. Han and Leia were married six weeks later, in the White Room in Imperial City. At the time if the battle between the New Republic and Grand Admiral Thrawn, Leia was pregnant with twins. She birthed her twins, Jacen and Jaina Solo, and at the same time tried to train her Jedi powers with Luke. Luckily she had her childhood friend Winter to help her with the children. Winter took the twins for protection from Imperial Forces and the dark side to the planet of New Alderaan when the Republic was driven from Coruscant by the surviving Imperial Forces. Again pregnant, Leia had to deal with the Emperor clone, and his corruption of Luke. On their way to help her brother, Han and Leia visited Nar Shaddaa, where Leia was recognized as a Jedi by Vima-Da-Boda and given an ancient lightsaber. The clone tried to corrupt Leia as well, but she was stronger than him, and she escaped, taking Palpatine's Jedi Holocron with her. Later, she joined Luke's side, and joined her will with his to defeat the cloned Emperor.
Soon after that, Leia and Han returned to Nar Shaddaa to find Vima-Da-Boda. After the New Republic had won back Coruscant, Leia became the minister of state. Mon Mothma was suddenly dying from a mysterious disease. Ackbar, after crashing his B-wing into the Vor's crystalline Cathedral of the Winds, resigned, disgraced. And suddenly, the republic once again stood under a great challenge. Without the founders of the Republic, Leia was alone. Admiral Daala emerged from the Maw cluster. Although Mon Mothma was healed by the Jedi Cilghal, Mon Mothma had tendered her resignation, and had chosen Leia as the Republic's leader. Leia is now the leader of the Republic
Han SoloHan was a talented swoop and speeder pilot by the time he entered the Imperial Space Academy. There he made friends with the older Mako Spince, and trooper Badure. Han soon earned the nickname Slick due to a particularly slick maneuver he performed in a malfunctioning U-33 loadlifter during class exercises. Mako and Han became the best of friends, breaking rules and engaging in horseplay and practical jokes. Spince went a little too far when he used a gram of antimatter from the physics lab to blow up the Academy's mascot moon. He was expelled two years before Solo graduated.
Han Solo graduated with honors, and accepted a commission in the Imperial Starfleet. He might have had a brilliant career in the Imperial navy, if it hadn't been for the encounter with a large, hairy Wookiee. Wookiees were a species enslaved under Imperial law, but Han felt he couldn't stand by and watch a slaver badly mistreat one particular Wookiee. For his interference, Solo was court-martialed, stripped of his commission and rank, and ejected from the navy. At the time, he considered himself lucky not have been shot by a firing squad.
Han soon found out that the Wookiee had established a life debt to him. This Wookiee custom was an oath of allegiance to a person who had saved a Wookiee's life. Once a life debt was undertaken, a Wookieee would follow his rescuer from one end of the galaxy to another, serving at their side, At first, Hans was annoyed, but he eventually came to appreciate Chewbacca's company and lifesaving gestures, and to consider him a friend.
Han soon hooked up with Mako Spince again. Mako had bought a ship and was now a disreputable smuggler. Mako taught Solo the adrenalin-pumping pleasures and profits of the smuggling trade, keeping the corellian around as a sidekick. Spince and Solo made their headquarters on the smuggler's moon of Nar Shaddaa, where modern cities were built upon cities of the past, creating an underworld maze of hideaways and headquarters for illicit business. Nar Shaddaa orbited Nal Hutta, home to the notorious species of sluglike creatures known as the Hutts.
Han and Mako worked with Roa's gang, smuggling water to the polluted industrial world of Rampa. There, he met the gambler and con-man Lando Calrissian, Salla Zend and Shug Ninx. Han was a canny gambler, and terrify Sabacc player. He was incredibly lucky. Han developed a nasty, but healthy ego, and the beginning of a healthier reputation, because when he was in a fight, he always seemed to come out on the top.
Han played a game of Sabacc with Lando, walking away with Lando's modified stock light freighter, the Millennium Falcon. Smuggling became easier with the Falcon, and captain Solo and first mate Chewie modified it constantly. Han was becoming more and more friends with the Wookiee, and even began understanding the language of the Wookiee's.
Han Solo's reputation as one of the best smugglers - and pilots - grew proportionately as his more daring exploits made the rounds of the cantinas and the crime lords. Han began taking Spice smuggling jobs from Jabba the Hutt and others. Moruth Doole was one of Han's spice suppliers, acquiring his contraband by skimming the drug from miners on Kessel. On one of Han's spice-smuggling runs to Jabba the Hutt, Imperials stopped the falcon, and in order to avoid arrest, Han jettisoned the spice into space, intending to pick it up later. Unfortunately, upon return, the spice was gone. What they didn't know, until years later, was the Moruth Doole had set them up, getting paid a fee by the authorities, and keeping the price Jabba had paid in advance for the spice.
Han and Chewie went to Tatooine to face Jabba, landing at Docking Bay 94 at the Mos Eisley spaceport. Before heading to see the Hutt crime lord, they stopper at Chalmun's cantina. There they picked up a job that would change their lives forever. An old man, Obi-Wan Kenobi, wanted a fast ship to Alderaan, carrying only himself, a smart-alecky young kid named Luke Skywalker, and two droids. Han negotiated 17,000 credit fee, for which Han wouldn't ask any questions. That would be enough to pay Jabba off and get back to business.
Before they could leave, Han was stopped by a Rodian bounty hunter named Greedo. Han had humiliated him years earlier on Nar Shaddaa, but now he was working for Jabba. Han distracted him long enough to shoot him, using a blaster hidden under the table. Even with Greedo dead, Han still had to face Jabba outside the docking bay. The smuggler promised the Hutt he would return soon with the money; Jabba warned Solo that if he disappointed him again, he'd put a piece on his head so large you won't be able to go near a civilized system for the rest of his short life.
Han Solo and Chewie were rapidly swept up in much more than they bargained for. After having rescued Princess Leia from the Death Star, he dropped Luke and Leia off at the Rebel base on Yavin Four. He would have been content to leave with his reward, but Chewbacca played to his conscience. So Solo brought the Falcon into the battle against the Death Star, just in time to save Luke's X-wing from certain disintegration. Luke blew up the Death Star, and back on the moon of Yavin, han, Chewie and Luke were all feted as heroes. Han didn't plan to stay with the Alliance, although events would soon transpire that would lead him back to his new friends. On the way back to Tatooine, Han was hijacked by the pirate Crimson Jack. Solo didn't even try to contact Jabba, and Jabba placed a bounty on Solo's head as promised. Solo found it safer to stick with the Rebellion. He stayed with the Rebellion for several years, adventuring, smuggling, and racking up an impressive rap sheet and bounty not only from Jabba, but also from the Empire. Leia and Chewie and Han, fleeing from the attacked rebel base of Hoth in search for refuge, was trapped on Cloud City, by Lando Calrissian. The Empire gave Han Solo to the bounty hunter Boba Fett, for giving the Empire a chance to lure Luke Skywalker into a well-planned trap. Han was given to Boba Fett after testing a carbonite freezing chamber on a living person. Before he was lowered into the carbonite pit, Han and Leia said their good-byes.
He spent a year on the wall in Jabba's Palace. After being rescued by his friends, Han had changed. While he still had no use for government or authority figures, han had a personal stake in the battle for freedom. Luke was like a brother to him, and he was madly in love with Leia. Han accepted a general's commission from Mon Mothma and her advisory council. Han, being an important part in the destruction of the second Death Star, would still have to fight for Leia. Eight years after their first meeting, Prince Isolder came and asked Leia to marry him. But Han wasn't about to let that happen. He kidnapped Leia, and took her to Dathomir, trying to convince her into marrying him. But the war came. With the help of Luke and Isolder, Han saved the day, and won Leia's heart. Soon thereafter, they were married.
Five years after the battle of Endor, the Republic faced the brilliant and ruthless Grand Admiral Thrawn. Han and Chewie were instrumental in bringing Talon Karrde, Mara Jade, and theother smugglers to aid the Alliance. In the midst of the battles, Han became a father for two twins. Leia and Han named them Jacen and Jaina. He also has the son Anakin. During the following, Han was out much, adventuring, helping the Alliance.
Chewbacca
C-3P0 and R2-D2
See-Threepio and Artoo-Detoo has not gathered the glory that their human friends have enjoyed. Both were an important factor of the Rebellion, as Artoo served as a messenger droid, and brought the plans of the Death Star safely to the Rebel Alliance. They have experienced a lot together, and had existed for at least a hundred years at the Battle of Yavin. Artoo is the best hacker in the galaxy, and can hack into any computersystem, as long as he can make out the difference between a power outlet and a Scomp Link. Threepio, being a protocol droid, is fluent in six million forms of communications. Artoo is also an excellent astromech, although going under extreme fire during the Battle of Yavin, where he was almost turned to a pile of junk.
C-3P0 is a Cybot Galactica 3P0 Human-Cyborg Relations Droid. He was activated 112 years before his adventures with the Rebel Alliance. He is a protocol droid, with many functions. He is outfitted with a TranLang Communicatin Module, and is fluent in six million galactic languages. He has been fitted with personality modules in his AA-1 VerboBrain, allowing him to experience emotions and feelings almost as much as the humans and aliens he interacts with. He seems to take unusual pleasure in worrying, complaining, whining, and arguing. His favourite topics are how terrible his life is, and how much trouble R2 has caused for him. Although his creativity circuits were designed with parameters to assure accurate translations, the lack of periodic memory wipes has enabled 3P0 to develop his talent for interpretations and embellishments more fully than most protocol droids.
R2-D2 is designed to operate in deep space, interfacing with fighter craft and computer systems to augment the capabilities of ships and their pilots. Artoo has a domed head, which can rotate 360 degrees. The dome has infrared receptors, electromagnetic-field sensors, a register read-out, logical dispenser, energy receptors, radar eye, heat and motion detectors, and a holographic recorder and projector built into it. His cylindrical body has many doors that opens, revealing hidden instruments, including a storage/retrieval jack for computer linkup, auditory receivers, flame-retardant foam dispenser, electric shock prod, high-powered spotlight, grasping claw, laser welder, circular saw, and a cybot acoustic signaler. The meter-high droid has two treaded legs running down opposing sides. Also, a third leg can be extended to provide extra stability in rough terrain. A periscoping visual scanner helps guide him if he is submerged.
Threepio and Artoo have developed an odd relationship over the years. The protocol droid is constantly cajoling, belittling, or arguing with his squat counterpart. Artoo is loyal, inventive, and sarcastic, coolly egging Threepio on without seeming to do so. One of the earliest known masters and owners of Threepio and Artoo was a notorious smuggler who abandoned them on the arid, salty planet Ingo, where they soon were adopted by the young speeder racer Thall Joben. He and his mechanic, Jord Dusat, were priming their superspeeder, the White Witch, for races at Boonta. Thall had made an enemy out of the evil gang leader, Tig Fromm, and his father, Sise Fromm. With the help of Threepio, Artoo, and starship pilot Kea Moll, Thall was able to fend off Fromm1s attacks. Thall finally set them free. The droids were soon assigned a new master by the Intergalactic Droid Agency, and found themselves serving drinks at Doodnik Cafe in the rough mining town of Tyne's Hokey. Fired after a short while on the Job, Threepio and Artoo were auctioned off to Jann Tosh, and soon came in contact with an amnesiac android prince, Mon Julpa of the planet Tammuz-an. They helped Prince Julpe regain his memory and joined Jann and pilot Jessica Meade in returning Julpa Home. When Jann was accepted into the Academy, he freed the droids. They later served under a few insignificant masters, and served them well. Years later, the droids came into galactic promince, by accident. They were owned by the Royal House of Alderaan, and served under their master, Captain Colton. Threepio was assigned to the Royal Family, and was present in many state dinners and affairs. He was almost dismantled during the Emperor's ball, for trying to compliment what he thought was a shiny, new, black GuardDroid. Threepio was now introduced to the fury of the black-robed Darth Vader. He was demoted to preschool duty for a year, but finally ended up in the labor pool, where he was reassigned to work with Artoo. They were then both assigned to Captian Antilles on the Tantive IV as it embarked on a secret mission to intercept stolen Imperial data. There they were suddenly, as the ship was attacked by a Star Destroyer over Tatooine, sent to the surface of the planet to find Obi-Wan Kenobi, with the plans for the Death Star hidden in Artoo. There, they were captured by Jawas, and sold to Owen Lars. The rest of the story is well-known.
Lando Calrissian
Darth Vader Anakin Skywalker grew up on the planet of Tatooine as a slave child with his mother, Shmi Skywalker. There, he worked for the dealer Watto, as a technical wiz. He also liked to do podraces.
Being extremely well attuned to the force, he could easily use the pod racers, because he had trhe ability to see into the future. Chance would have it that a Jedi knight called Qui-Gon Jinn discovered this boy and his abilities and chose to take him into practise. But the Jedi Council recognized the danger and refused to have anything to do with the training.
Then, a young Jedi Knight by the name of Obi-Wan Kenobi, the apprentice of Qui-Gon, saw the great potential in the kid, and took it upon himself to teach the young boy about the Force, after Qui-Gon Jinn had been killed in a dramatic fight. His first Jedi pupil soon began to explore the Dark Side. As it was proven to be easier to master, the pupil was more and more seduced by the Dark Side. By the time Kenobi clearly understood how deeply Anakin had fallen into sync with the Dark Side of the Force, it was to late. He tried to bring his friend back, but Skywalker refused. They were soon engaged in a vicious battle, which ended when Anakin fell into a molten pit. What emerged from the fiery pool was a deeply scarred and burnt husk of a man, carrying both hatred for Kenobi and the power of the Dark Side. In that black moment, Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader.
As it was on the brink of survival, Vader had to use a respetory suit, that helped him survive the common day. Reborn to darkness, Darth Vader joined the person who had been working backstage from the beginning turning Skywalker to the Dark Side. Emperor Palpatine, whose New Order and Empire were nightmare of many Jedi. Palpatine was able to continue Darth Vader's training in the dark side, allowing him to learn an angry control over the Force. Vader eventually gained the long-dormant title of Dark Lord of the Sith, allowing him to tap into the evil forces of tens of thousands of years.
Yet for all his dark-side powers, Vader had his weaknesses. Unable to breathe on his own without great difficulty, Vader was forced to wear a breath mask, and lifesupporting body armor. The design was changed over and over, to make it look terrifying and imposing. Built into the mask were visual enhancement system, hearing-augmentation devices, a Vocoder electronic Voice Synthesizer and air in/out vents.
As Darth Vader aligned himself with the self-proclaimed Emperor and his New Order. Obi-Wan feared the future for the republic. He changed his name, and stowed away the kid of Skywalker in safe places. Soon afterwards, the Empire began to eradicate the universe of Jedi Knights. Darth Vader became a symbol of power. He soon become one of Palpatine's most feared servant, and his right hand. Palpatine trusted Vader, and gave him full control over the feared Death Squadron, which contained a lot of Star Destroyers and the Executor, which were one of four feared Super Star Destroyers. Although not a very good battleship, it managed to spread fear, and whole planets surrendered by the sight of the mighty ship.
Tall, black and imposing, Vader was the most visible symbol of the power of the Empire. His command structure was legendary; displease him and the least that would happen was physical unpleasantness, disappoint him and accept death as punishment.
Palpatine's rise to power was a long one. Senator Palpatine, an unassuming man whose record was barely unimpressive, began his bid for power. Over the years, he had turned down placement on important advisory boards and powerful committees. He had been a quiet observer, and had gained few enemies.
After a time, Palpatine ascended to the head of the Senate, and was elected President for the Republic. Once secure in his office, he established a New Order, and declared himself Emperor of the Galaxy. He started to get rid of all of his possible enemies, by either gaining powerful allies, or just kill them off. Especially the Jedi Knights were hunted by the Emperor. Killing what had controlled the galaxy for the last few thousand years, he now had full control. Palpatine began training Force-Sensitive people, to lure them into the Dark Side. He trained many Jedi's into becoming Dark Jedi's, most notably Darth Vader. They ruled the galaxy together with an Iron Fist.
Palpatine experimented with cloning, knowing that he himself would die soon. The Dark Side of the Force slowly sucks the life from one who uses it, and it ages the body more quickly. He learned how to transfer his spirit into an empty clone of himself. This, ensuring the Emperor's full invincibility, proved successful. But he can only transfer to a clone of himself, and since Luke Skywalker, after the emperor's death on the second Death Star, tried to destroy all of the Emperor's clones, he has now only a limited supply of clones left. He is terrified of a final death, where his spirit will lead to perpetual madness as a disembodied spirit, adrift in the Dark Side.
Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Greedo
Grand Moff Tarkin
Boba FettKnown galaxy-wide as one of the deadliest bounty hunters in the business. A man who could kill without a remorse. Being one of Jabba the Hutt's most trusted bounty hunters, he was the one who could aquire the credits for Han Solo. He was also the supervisor of Jabba's other bounty hunters. The man behind the mask of Boba Fett remains a mystery. No one knows his history or background, but rumors has it that he is a former fighter from the Clone Wars, from the Mandalore systems, a system defeated by the Jedi Knights during the Clone Wars.
One other story tells the following: Boba Fett used to be known as a Journeyman Protector Jaster Mereel. Years past, the ugly young law-enforcement officer on the world of Concord Down had killed another protector, and though the dead man had been corrupt, disgracing his office and uniform, Mereel was still imprisoned for the murder. Against the wishes of his pleader, the arrogant young man remained unrepentant to the trial court, and Jaster Mereel was exiled from Concord Dwon, stripped of all he owned. Mereels adoption of the name Boba Fett, and the amnner in which he acquired his rare battle armor, are tales lost in time, remembered by no living except for Fett himself (although it is likely that he has forgotten himself).
Fett wears the armor of the Mandalorians, a group of evil warriors who were defeated by the Jedi Knights during the Clone Wars. Fett's modified Mandalore armor includes a helmet that has a macrobinocular viewplate, motion and sound sensors, infrared capabilities, an internal comlink with his ship, the Slave I, and a broadband antenna for intercepting and decoding transmissions. Wrist gauntlets house lasers, a miniature flame projector, and a fibercord whip/grappling device; a backpak jet pack includes a turboprojected magnetic grappling hook with twenty-meter lanyard. Fett also carries knee-pad rocket dart launchers, and a BlasTech EE-3 rifle. Braided Wookiee scalps hang over his right shoulder to complete the outfit.
Throughout his life, Fett has worked as a mercenary, a soldier, a personal guard, an assassin, and, most frequently, as a bounty hunter. The most expensive bounty hunter in the known systems. He collected 150.000 credits for the capture of pirate Feldrall Okor, and took a record 500.000 credits when he caught the religious Ffib heretic Nivek'Yppiks for the Lothrans.
He has proved to be quite unkillable. Han Solo thought he was dead after their encounter at Ord Mantell, Dash Rendar thought he had killed him, and his droidship Slave I, and who would have believed that he managed to escape the deadly grip of the Sarlacc? Still, Han Solo have killed Boba Fett at least four times now, only to be proven wrong in the belief, since Boba Fett always have returned.
Yoda
The creatures stand about one meter tall, and are covered by thick fur. Individuals often wear hoods, decorative feathers and animal bones. They have very little technology and are a primitive culturem but during the Battle of Endor demonstrated a remarkable ability to learn and follow commands. They build treehouses high above the ground. They have no technological advances whatsoever, and still has religion as one of the higher priorities. Although primitive, they are extremly smart. If allowed to experiment, they soon figure out how to handle with things way beyond their understandings.
They are quite territorial, but are smart enough to realize that retreat is sometimes the best course of action. They have an excellent sense of smell, although their vision isn't as good as that of humans.
Gamorreans
Gamorreans are green-skinned creatures from the planet of Gamorr. They are known for great strength and brutality. Their tendency toward - and talent for - violence has made them favored mercenaries around the known galaxy
Gamorreans organize themselves into clans. Males dedicate all of their efforts to warfare, while females are responsible for farming, hunting, weaving, and manufacturing weapons. Gamorreans prefer heavy melee weapons in comba, and the species has a marked distaste for energy weapons, especially during wars on their homeworld. They do not speak Basic, but understands it well.
Ithorian
Ithorians, also known as hammerheads, are large, graceful creatures from the Ottega star system. They have a long neck, which curls forward and ends in a domeshaped head. They are perhaps the greatest ecologists in the galaxy, they have a technologically advanced society, but have devoted most of their efforts to preserving the natural and pastoral beauty of the homeworld's tropical jungles. Ithorians live in great herd cities, which hover above the surface of the planet, and there are many Ithorian herd cities which ply the starlanes travelling from planet to planet for trade. Ithorians often find employment as artists, agricultural engineers, ecologists and diplomats. They are a peace-loving and gentle people.
Mon Calamari
The Mon Calamari are one of the staunchest supporters of the New Republic. First enslaved by the Empire, these peaceful beings learned to make weapons and fight, and their assistance, especially in the form of battle cruisers, was essential to the defeat of the Empire. Although making good starships, where none has the same form, their eyes has a special field of view, and their instruments are built in such a way that only a Mon Calamari can use them!
The Mon Calamari are land creatures, but water is essential to their culture. They are used to moist climates, and find arid areas, such as deserts, uncomfortable and unnatural. They share their moist homeworld with the quarren species.
In terms of behaviour, they arepeaceful and soft-spoken, but forceful. They tend to see life as very organized, and have no tolerance fro those who would break or bend laws for personal gain. They have, at times, come into strong conflict with organized smuggling organizations, including the one run by Jabba the Hutt.
Rodians
Rodians are ahumanoid species with multifaceted eyes, a tapirlike snout and deep green skin. They have a prominent ridge of spines running along the back of their skulls. Their fingers are long, flexible and end in suction cups. The suction cups are not vestigal, they can ick up small objects in them and manipulate them quite well, though the suctIon is not very strong. The Rodians greatly prize the art of bounty hunting, and many have found great success in this field throughout the galaxy.
Sullustans
Sullustans are jowled, mouse-eared humanoids with large, round eyes. They heil from Sullust, a harsh, volcanic planet with numerous caves. It is in these caves that these peoples have made their homes.
Sullustans are known as able pilots and navigators, and they have excellent senses of vision and hearing, as well as direction.
Sullust is controlled by the huge SoroSuub Corporation, which has enforced harsh work procedures and regulations upon its people - however, this condition is still preferable to conquest and enslavement at the hands of the Empire.
Twi'leks
Tall, thin humanoids with huge tentacular appendages, Twi'leks are cunning, aly creatures who are found as traders, pirates, mercenaries or slavers. They never developed space travel on their own, but have embraced the galactic community, travelling throughout the galaxy.
Twi'leks try to avoid the great conflicts of the galaxy, rather than be swept up in what they consider to be huge heat storms (a reference to the harsh weather of their home world), they prefer to duck into the shadows to wait out the events that will inevitably occur. From a safe hiding spot, they can observe, plan and prepare, and then profit from the situation.
Wookiees
Wookies are intelligent, arboreal creatures from the jungle world of Kashyyyk. They are considered to be one of the strongest intelligent alien species in the galaxy, yet also exhibit an uncanny knack for repairing and altering technology. They are known for their loyalty to their friends, short tempers and cleverness. WHile Wookiees have a reputation for hostility, and many have been known to smash objects when angered, they also possess the capacity of great kindness, a sharp wit and an appreciation of the qualities of loyalty, honesty and friendship. Wookies have developed much of their own technology, constructing huge cities in the trees of their homeworld. They also have their own tools unique to their culture, the most famous of which is the Wookie bowcaster, or laser crossbow. The wookies were enslaved under the Empire, and since being freed by the New Republic, have become strong supporters of the new government.
Jawas
The Jawas is a scavenger race unique to Tatooine. Jawas are intelligent, rodent-like beings obsessed with collecting discarded hardware and machinery. About a meter tall, they commonly wear rough-woven hooded cloaks to shield them from the heat of Tatooine's twin suns. Only their eyes glow from within the darkness of their hoods. They have a unique and rather unpleasant smell.
While jawas understand Basic, the official language of the Galaxy, they only speak in their jabbering, nearly incomprehensible, native language.
The creatures make their home in massive sandcrawlers, which prowl the desert wastes around the world. It is believed that several hundred Jawas make their home in each sandcrawler, which is a confusing maze of tunnels, ducts and piles of scrap. Each Jawa group seeks wrecked starships, abandoned or lost droids and other items of technology that can be refurbished and sold to the frugal moisture farmers of this unforgiving planet.
Sand People/Tusken Raiders
The sand people of tatooine are quite an enigma to the human inhabitants of the desert world. Even the daily routines of Tusken Raider life are shrouded in mystery. It often seems that the unpredictable actions of these cryptic creatures must be determined by some strange, antiquated code. Only the existance of such a personal credo could possibly explain the bizarre and seemignly random violent actions committed by Tusken Raiders on a regular basis.
Whatever the case, the Sand People are a dangerously unpredictable group, and should be avoided at all costs. The rocky canyons of Tatooine's Jundland Wastes have been known to be particularly infsted with Tusken Raiders.
Alec Guinness as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Born Apr. 2, 1914, is an English stage and screen actor known particularly for his character roles and comic impersonations. He was a respected member of the Old Vic when roles in film adaptations of two Dickens novels -- Herbert Pocket in Great Expectations (1946) and Fagin in Oliver Twist (1948)--brought him a larger public. He became better known through bravura performances in such British film comedies as Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949), The Lavender Hill Mob (1951), The Man in the White Suit (1951), and The Lady-killers (1955).
Guinness received an Oscar for his performance in The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957) and was knighted in 1959. He subsequently gave distinguished dramatic performances in Tunes of Glory (1960), Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Star Wars (1977), and A Passage to India (1984). Guinness's memoirs were published in 1987.
Since 1980, Guinness has made several television appearances that further attest to his versatility as a character actor, including his highly acclaimed performances as George Smiley in the television miniseries "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" (1980) and its sequel, "Smiley's People" (1981)--both based on John LeCarre novels.
Peter Cushing as Grand Moff Tarkin, famous for the Frankenstein movies, and Dracula... A great actor of the horror category at his time. Now, his films are all but silly. And Cushing is like Dracula... Dead. May the Force be with him... Wherever he is. Rest In Peace!
Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker. Mark Hamill did not do much more in the movie business after Star Wars, but has made it great as a comicbook author, and the voice of the Joker in the Batman cartoon. Also has done a lot of computer games, like Full Throttle, and the Wing Commander series. He has also been seen in some rather odd cameo parts in strange TV-series (be sure to get a look at him in Streets of San Francisco).
Carrie Fisher as Leia Organa. Carrie Fisher haven't been seen to many times at the big screen, but is in fact a best-selling author of quite a bunch of books. Well, don't really know what else to say!
Harrison Ford as Han Solo. The intensely private film actor Harrison Ford, born Chicago, July 13, 1942, has starred in some of the top box-office hits of all time, several of them in recurring roles. After a number of years of secondary roles in the movies and on TV, most often as a cowboy, Harrison Ford dropped out of acting altogether and became a carpenter. He returned after a while, and Ford first won recognition playing a hot-rodder in George LUCAS's American Graffiti (1973). He soared to fame, however, as starship captain Han Solo in Lucas's blockbuster intergalactic Star Wars trilogy (1977, 1980, 1983). Ford's next action hero was Indiana Jones, the erudite but daring archaeologist of Steven SPIELBERG's Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) and its sequels (1984, 1989). And in the last (thus far) of his repeat leads he engaged audiences as CIA man Jack Ryan in Patriot Games (1992) and Clear and Present Danger (1994), based on Tom CLANCY's best-selling novels. In between, Ford was nominated for a best-actor Academy Award for his sensitive portrayal of a big-city cop sheltered by an Amish family in Witness (1985), and was more than credible in Frantic (1988) and The Fugitive (1993). Also the film Bladerunner must be noted as a good film (1980). And take a look at him kick some bad-ass butt in the movie Air Force One (1997) where he plays the President of USA!
Anthony Daniels as C-3P0. Anthony Daniels have actually stuck with Star Wars, being the voice of 3P0 in the Droids cartoons. But he also has done some strange things, like written a successful column in the Star Wars fanzine; the Insider... You better read it, it has some strange stuff in it!! Actually, it is rather cool. I don't know what else he does with his life, but as of now, I rather think I don't want to know.
The creator: The American film director, screenwriter, and producer George Lucas, born in Modesto, California, May 14, 1944, is best known for his fantastically popular trilogy of space fantasy movies--Star Wars (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), and Return of the Jedi (1983). After his first feature, THX-1138 (1971), Lucas made American Graffiti (1973), a nostalgic look at adolescence in 1962. He collaborated with filmmaker Steven Spielberg on the three hit films featuring the adventures of archaeologist Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Lucas also coproduced Mishima (1985), about the Japanese writer; and Tucker (1988), on the American automobile manufacturer.
