A short intro in English.
For our international visitors, it has been requested a short summary in english.
Regrettably, the main content of this site is in the norwegian language only, but our images are universally understandable - we hope.
Who we are - well, there has been some changes over the years. Some of us started out in 1995 when we explored the quirks of the Bromoil process. Later on, we divided our work in several other historical photographic processes, like cyanotype, gum bichromate and van Dyke brownprints, as well as some newer finds like gumoil and polymer photogravure. And when digital photography came along, we incorporated that into our works when needed.
I dare to say we held the first known (to us, anyway) exhibition of prints, both printed from a computer or made with different altenative photographic processes, with images solely exposed with the "camera" in a cellphone. Thanks to the nice people of Nokia for lending us the phones. In our modest way we can simply state that the exhibition in Oslo was a huge success;-)
Anyway, our goal is to inspire each other and exhibit our work - on the web and on any gallery wall, anywhere, where there is an understanding of good art and photography.
Jurek Karwowski is our technical whizz kid and one of the founding fathers of the group. These days he is working mostly in polymer photogravure.
Rune Jensen works with all types of processes, often combined. And he likes to make BIG images with unconventional framing.
Tone Solhaug is our environmentalist, trying to save the world along the way. She's got an eye for details, and her images often surprise.
Thomas Russ Arnestad is the newest addition to the group. He has yet to refine his style within this context. He is a keen and passionate photographer.
Walter Rietig is our international member. His classic nudes has been represented in books and magazines in the UK and Germany, and he has exhibited his photography extensively in Hungary and Germany, and of course in several galleries in Norway. These days he is working mostly in silver gelatin and what the germans like to call "lichtdrück".
Per Volledal is usually making cyanotypes and bromoils, some gum bichromates and silver gelatine prints, and will not too frequently update this website.
So, please browse this site and take a look at our images. All images are handmade, most of them are one of a kind.
